Canes Commits/Targets HS Season Thread: 2016-2017

AH is overrated AF by the way...
And to think, some of y'all were ready to commit suicide because we didn't land some of their kids... Lol

I've said it so many times and preached it. I don't get the Surtain hype. Neither does @DMoney. He's good but I don't think he's the hands down best like some claim he is. I think Tyson Campbell is the best DB prospect on that team, that kids ceiling is scary, supposed to be class of 2019 as well. Rumphs greatest shot of landing anyone from AH comes through him, work already layed out for him. Family are pro-canes, was coaching by Rumph since little league and looks up to him. Win and the rest will handle its self.
IMO, Asante Jr, Al Jr, Troutman, Campbell & Jobe are all better than Surtain...
In fact, I actually think the trio from Coconut Creek are on the same level as well.
He gets a lot of hype because of who his dad is and what team he plays for, but he's definitely not the best DB on his team, let alone the whole district.

#Storm18 5* RB Target Lorenzo Lingard from University High, ran 17 times for 125 yards and a TD. His TD was from 35 yards out.

I'm serious when I say this is my number 1 guy at RB next class.

4.53 electric forty. State champ in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Talk to one of his coaches, kid is about 6'0" 190-195 right now. Running 4.4 hand timed.

Geo305, I agree 100%
I think Lingard is the best back in the state, 2017 back's included.
He's program changer.... A definite must get.

Unless Colquitt County lost alot of key seniors, they are going to rape American Heritage.

Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk

I think they return a total of 3 starters from last years team. They're at home and have one of the best HCs in the country, but I think AHPs catching them on a down year.

Ga refs usually are petty one sided on these games. They will recruit don't worry
Lol that's true the refs are pretty bad I'm from Moultrie (Colquitt county)

Who is on that BTW defense specifically the secondary? All the reports coming out is that AH can't get anything going through the air.
Saw one tweet that said BTW COVERAGE is disrespectful.
JTWILCOXSPORTS is saying them boys eating right now

Also Mike Vick came to watch the BTW game tonight

Booker T up 20-0.... i said in a previous comment that people sleeping on Booker T...AH aint that great

BTW vs STA next week man who you got?

STA, but it will be close, wont be a blow out..wouldn't surprise me if BTW won tho....

You're right Geo, and many of the posters who live down here & watch the kids here game in game out know this as well. I think it's mostly out of town & out of state people that still hold on to the Surtain mystique. I try not to harp on it much for obvious reasons, but my eyes tell me the same as y'alls. But he is supposed to be an '18 kid, he's just young for the class and he didn't have any FCAT problems. I'm actually dying to see him get a chance on offense again. IMO he'd be a 5* WR but from what I saw tonight, he's on the right side of the ball at Heritage. BTW, Chatfield is severely underrated even as a high 3/4*, do you know if the staff considers him a priority Geo?

The staff knows about 2018 DE Andrew Chatfield from American Heritage, he came a few times in the spring to visit. No offer yet, still early in the evaluating process for linemen next class. First caught eye of him when a buddy of mine told me to check out the kid opposite of Brian Burns last season.

Yes on Campbell, absolutely love his ability.

I've seen Surtain on 2 seperate occasions. I expected to be blown away and that did not happen. He's not bad but the whole #1 corner in FL and the nation and 5 star talk is VERY premature in my eyes.

DJ Dallas is playing QB for Glynn Academy a 6A powerhouse. They played 2A Benedictne Academy last night in Savannah and got stomped. DJ got 14 yards on 16 carries. He got roughed up and shaken up. Glenn County had a bunch of fumbles and bad snaps. Ugly game for Glynn Academy. DJ has some quicks but is not a QB.

Bet that up Geo, now it makes sense to me why he doesn't have an offer yet. That kid is a terror off the edge, and to me, he and Ty are a notch above all the rest of that D1 talent on their defense.

Toughest schedules in Florida per Florida hs football

GAINESVILLE – With the 2016 season just officially a week away from opening, FloridaHSFootball.com is unveiling a project that has been in the works for a while.

That project is finding out what every team’s strength of schedule is in the state using pure raw numbers or raw data as some would say. The raw numbers or data being the wins and losses from every single team a team has played. It also means we will be tracking data from out-of-state teams that are on the schedule this year with some of the teams.

Now with having that data readily available, it was really easy to settle in on the BCS (NCAA) Strength of Schedule formula to tells us exactly who has the strongest schedule in Florida.

With all the information now setup in the computer for this season, we have the first results with the preseason strength of schedule. The only requirement we have put in place to be included on the strength of schedule rankings, which will be updated each week, is that teams have a minimum of eight opponents scheduled for this season, which will be the requirement for the foreseeable future.

We will post a Top 25 regardless of classification, followed by the Top 10 strongest schedules for each of the eight classifications as well as a Top 10 for the independents as well. Also, fans can expect to see updated strength of schedule for all teams, that will be included in the district standings which will come online early next week.

We will publish this information every week throughout the season and one final time after the playoffs and state championships are complete. Publisher Joshua Wilson will offer some quick thoughts on his thoughts and why certain things look a certain way on the Strength of Schedule each week as well.

So without further ado, here is our first-ever Strength of Schedule rankings:

NOTE: Teams must have a minimum of eight (8) games scheduled for this season to qualify for listing.

Who is #9 on defense for NW. Kids looked legit.
#16 is Sharod Oliver, he plays CB but they moved him over this season, Kai Henry is their starting RB though.
#9 OLB Demetrius Taylor, 2017 kid but doesn't hold any major offers, but should blow up this season... Kid is legit a 6'1 220lbs.
