Canes Camp Report 3-26-13 Episode 4

Typically fans care about the goods & don't harp on every little detail. By the way I believe about half of what you just said. If you understood football then you would understand someone gets owned on every play. Offense & defense. So literally every play you can pick a negative. I'm sure you'll be happy to do that...

True, FANS do care about the goods.

People who have coached and played the game their entire lives look at the negatives first because their first instinct is to fix the flaws.

I like how we only like to talk about the negatives after a loss but during the offseason we're always a top ten team in the wings. He just pointed out some basic flaws in what was supposed to the high points during the practice. If it were four random plays maybe he was nit picking but those were supposed to be the best plays of the day. I don't see what the big deal is.

Thank you.

The "plays of the day" or more discouraging to me than promising.

1. Gunter getting smoked, no safety help
2. Morris throws the ball to a blanketed Hurns instead of dumping to a wide open Waters right in front of his face.
3. The center doesn't keep his head on a swivel and help the guard, instead blocks nobody. (we're getting zero pass rush from anybody on that play as well)
4. Walford lets the ball go right through his hands and it's almost picked. (same ol' same ol')

Maybe I'm just nit-picking but I'd rather see our guys actually MAKE plays, not be given plays.
Geez, Golden said in the Herald that it was the best practice since he has been at the U.

Oh. Then maybe I was just seeing things in the video.

You may be the worst fan I've seen on here. Neg his *** to Bolivian. ******.

*adds that to the list of things people only say to me on the internet*

Really think you guys are getting carried away. Maybe his wording should have been different but there's nothing wrong with pointing out areas for improvement since basically all we have been doing is circle jerking.

For ****s sake we had pages of people complaining about Figs tackle technique but someone can't say Morris missed a wide open underneath guy, which got him LAMBASTED against UNC? Come on y'all.

No dude...

It's my fault.

I forgot that spring was circle-jerk season.

Hold up are really critiquing plays shot by our boy Chip? If this was an intercut coaches tape showing Golden's top plays sure, but these are from the young Mike Mayock.

Yes we still have issues. It is spring and that is when this stuff needs ironed out. If those plays are the wow plays and they didnt happen any other time of the practice I am not mad. Thing is we dont know and Golden loved todays practice. So I will defer to him and the staff as opposed to a message board dude breaking down a few plays.

Spring shouldnt be evaluated from play to play anyways. Its a whole process. Some guys are just more ready than others at this point, coaches included. The job of this staff is to get everybody clicking when it comes time to play FAU.

Its why IMO the most important part of this spring, and huge advantage over last spring is a healthy Stephen Morris. The D may have held us back last year but we rolled how Morris rolled and we just need him to keep getting better every day.

You're clearly nitpicking. 4 plays that someone picked because they are entertaining for the masses.

I didn't say they shouldn't be the "top plays". The way the plays were made is discouraging to me.

You look at the result. I look at what happened in between. That's fine.

You looked at what happened on 4 plays of a practice that had plenty. They're might be 4 plays that you would love but they aren't splash plays so they weren't featured. There was play earlier in the video where Ty Cornileus avoided Bunche and met Duke in the hole and stopped him for no yards. That play may mean more to you than the four they featured.

SMH. I understand that. Like I said, they should be the top plays. They're splash plays. Sure.

However...

That's our starting CB that got toasted. That's our starting Center that didn't help on Robinson. (those are our "pass rushing" DE's on that same play that got zero pressure). That's our starting QB that threw to a covered Hurns instead of a wide open Waters. Andddd that's our starting TE that let the ball go right through his hands.

I focus on the negatives during a play, that's just the way I am. I assure you that Miami's coaches are doing the same thing.

If those "starting DEs" both got pressure on that play you would be b!tching about our "starting OTs."
What's your point?

Lol at everyone breaking down practice like it's the MNC. I'd much prefer our guys make their mistakes in practice (where they're supposed to be made. Where, typically, you don't have too many fans looking in and critiquing your performance as if it's what you'll look like on the field for the rest of your life)

It's only the third padded practice lmao, obviously there are things to work on and we're not in mid-season form.
