I’m the *****? Interesting but you’d never condescend right? That’s not you

There is a huge difference between (1) being condescending because I think your take is awful and (2) insulting someone with middle school name calling. The second one is what you do when you're stuck and can't think of an actual response.

Like right now. You've gone away from "why are we only hiring Miami bros" to half a page about me.

Deny the impediments? Like when I said the scholarship issue is a challenge, but one that can be overcome with some effort? Is that your version of "denying"?
Listening to these guys all vomit over themselves about the scholarship challenge you would think the program has never had any success in the sport at all. They talk like we’re Texas A&M football of college baseball it blows my mind.

Everyone wishes tuition was cheaper. It certainly presents a challenge but to continue to sit here and blame the scholarship limitation every **** year after not getting out of a home regional with Numerous top Tier mlb prospects who were big time HS prospects and will be drafted high in draft very soon is embarrassing.

The argument has become worse than the facilities argument in football as the reason why the likes of Duke and UVA have had our number since joining the acc. It’s a challenge. But has nothing to do with why this program has seriously underachieved over last 15 years.

Right? If we were losing Super Regionals, getting knocked out by national seeds every year, yeah, maybe the scholarship issue is keeping us from getting over that last hump. But losing at home to #2 and #3 seeds? Losing to South Florida, South Alabama, Central Michigan? GTFOH with "scholarship limits".

It’s interesting that you think they’re better quality players that are out there and losing to 3 seeds is your proof. I think they’d love to clone yo-yo morales and guys like that but trying a national footprint I don’t think is the answer

If a national footprint isn't the answer, and we can only get south Florida kids who can afford UM, then we need to stop expecting any kind of success.

Of course a national footprint is the answer if you look at the rosters of the national contenders.

So we’re just a hard-working staff away from Dylan, Cruz, and Tommy white? That’s what you’re implying when you speak on the roster

That is absolutely what I am saying. Not hiding from that at all. Our recruiting plan has not been a secret. Go over to Fort Myers and up to Jupiter, call the guys at SWFL, Hit Factory. You can't whine about scholarship issues AND defend our local recruiting strategy.

And you think we don’t try hard enough to make out of state offers?

So we just don’t make offers or we don’t offer the ones you think we should?

We don't spend enough time finding kids nationwide who can play at an elite level and who can afford UM. They are out there.

Of course, when you don't have success to sell other than "we make it to regionals", that hurts the process.

So when we offer out of state kid. Do we break down the scholarship in a way where there’s too much left over for parental contributions?

We’re behind in a lot of areas. I think that’s clear to everyone paying attention.

When it comes to recruiting I believe we’ve been a bit lazy with evaluations, but the landscape has certainly changed the game.

Up until about a decade ago I believe UM had a huge built-in local advantage. What local kid didn’t want to play at the Light?

Then, ESPN3 kicked in and your family and friends can watch every at bat no matter where you play. Then, kids start taking trips to these other schools. They see the facilities and programs offered to develop them and the Light stops feeling so magical. It’d be nice if during a broadcast they were talking about our pitching lab or high-end specialists instead of our milkshakes.

The “Miami offer” doesn’t carry the same sort of weight it used to with the big-time local kids. In lieu of that, I think we need to be more effective nationally. And certainly more effective in the portal (NIL?).

Is it? Cause I’m asking if we cover the same amount (tuition books) for every scholarship? How is that weird?

If the scholarships are broken down in a way in which there is too much left for the parents to pay, then you've offered the wrong kid. That's where the grinding part comes in.

Again, though, if it was worth it, parents would find a way. I'm paying out of state tuition right now that I can't afford because the program my daughter is in is so good.
