Matt Lubick(Duke WR coach) - developed a Guliver kid into the leading WR in ACC history
- limited local ties have local ties
- how would he fair recruiting in Liberty City, Homestead........?

Lamar - doesnt have the experience
- charismatic, would most likely be a good recruiter

Troop - great recruiter
- local ties
-liability due to looming sanctions

Mike Irvin - no experience
- cant afford him
- too big of a personality
- would be a monster recruiter and motivator

Frank Ponce - local ties for recruiting
- developed TY, but hasnt developed his best talent, Willis Wright

Duper - no experience
- developed our best reciever in the last decade, Hankerson
- liability due to his criminal record

the above candidates are highly unlikely do to either lack of experience or liablitly, but who else is a real possibility?

Frank Ponce at FIU is rumored to be a candidate according to the Twitters. Well connected in the county and coached T.Y. Hilton. Seems legit to me.

Golden hired an NFL WR coach last time. I'd be very surprised if he hired an FIU position coach.

Agreed on the surface but Ponce, according to his bio, would be a MONSTER recruiter with The U brand behind him and all his local ties. And taking a kid that we turned down in favor of Kendall Thompkins and making him a 3rd Round Pick and All American is nothing to sneeze at.

I also wonder if Derrick Crudup might be good in this role? I know he was on Saban's staff...just thinking out loud.

whos the WR coach at WV, dude has developed more local talent then any one we've had recently

I am Duper's biggest fan, however, he will never coach on a college campus due to his felony record.

Irvin will never happen, great guy and motivator but no coaching experience and he would be too big of a personality for the position

Trooper talk is silly. Let's have a real discusison without this bs

Didn't we turn away TY because he wanted to play basketball and football?

I'd like to think we'd hire someone with a greater body of work than Ponce.

I'm Tellin you guys Jimmy Robinson from the dallas cowboys.. he has been proven and a great coach.. i know he is older but he knows the game really well.

Heard someone bring up John McNultey in a thread, has NFL experience, played at PSU, WRs coach at college and NFL level, was a OC for Schiano at RU. Currently a member of Arizona Cardinal staff that is probably on the way out.

Tee Martin would be interesting too. I know that he is at USC and turned down Tenn, his alma mater, but Kiffen appears to have fallen out of favor and may be piloting a sinking ship and Tenn is a dumpster fire far from winning. Maybe he would give us a legit look.
