Lets face it. All the big name schools cheat. College football is about money. It's down to whether or not you can out cheat the other programs. Miami is a small private university. We can't compete financially with the other big name programs. ****, we can't compete with the two PUBLIC Florida programs.

We cannot afford a stellar coaching staff. We can't fill the stadium and we can't outbid SEC schools or even FSU for local talent. I think what we got here is what the norm will be.

I guess the whole landscape of CFB has changed in the last 10 years.

Dumb Thread, of course the answer is Yes.

Give it time, this team was a cluster **** when Golden took over. Anyone that expected a quick turnaround was crazy.

No Miami can't compete. No one wants to hear that though. The talent in the surrounding area is no longer enough. This will be apparent a few years from now I think.

The university of Miami is solely responsible for the state of it's football program. Program will likely never recover.

i guess you havent been informed that we are involved in a long NCAA investigation about players being given stuff for the better part of a decade. since we basically got nothing from it, the lesson here is that we couldnt even cheat right

I think they are honoring Paul Dee tonight. Ironic in that he's the person most responsible for the demise of the football program. Never coming back. My guess is we won't win or play for another national championship in any of our lives.

there is a very simple reason for the inflation of that number.

lets see if anyone can figure it out.

Top 15 in gameday spending as well, so your point is not really a point.

That surrounding talent is what beat Miami today. Gio is right from STA high school.

Lol at the drama. Everyone calm down. We are in a hot bed and still pulling in top notch players.

Go tell Stanford, TCU, Boise St. that a small private school can't compete. Every facet of this program was destroyed over the span of 8+ years. If you actually believed this was a 2 year rebuilding project you were highly mistaken. It will take time just show up to the games and everything else will fall into place.

Talent in surrounding area is only reason we even have a chance.

Hurr Durr. We lost. So now we can never compete again.

I know it's emotional when we lose, but come on. I saw this young team improve a bit today. Baby steps I know, but I noticed things. I posted them in the bright spots thread.

Bototm line to me for the future is, to **** with self imposing if we do get bowl eligible. These young kids need all those extra practices IMO. They will continue to grow.

Go Canes!
