Really fair points here. My thoughts are geared towards 2030. I know that sounds crazy, but I have kids and I want them to enjoy Miami football with me. In 2030, we will be eligible for the “P2.” There will be a finite amount of universities who can compete in the P2. Brand, relevance and performance will be huge factors as the next major realignment moves take place. If we have 3 or 4 ten win seasons and a conference championship it’s a different conversation around Miami the brand and the program. We already see some of this with the new ACC rev split deal. For us to get viewership, we have to be CONSISTENTLY top tier. Totally agree with your points though.
TLDR: no one outside of us lunatics look at the bad bounces or bad luck. Heck most people don’t even look at the schedules, some call those people casuals… but it’s all about eyeballs and what B1G Noon Kickoff and Gameday can package up for the avg consumer.
