Cam Going to Get Dawson a HC Gig?

$2.3M ain’t ****. He should be getting close to that here.
Not remotely but thank you for playing google doesn't exist.

There are literally zero OC's making that much (2.3M) in college football. I think there are 2 in all of CFB that even start with a $2M- denbrock and kelly

I think they may be missing one on that list- Chip Kelly at $2M a year

I said close. And Miami doesn’t disclose their salaries, as the employees are not state employees. He’s compensated very well.

Please someone tell me why Dawson should jump to the #3 overall OC in America by pay after one admittedly great season with a possibly all time college great QB?

A raise? sure.

But if he wants the career path and more money than yes he would look at an HC opportunity (not saying it's east Carolina, just saying you would have to overpay the market to keep him from almost all P4 jobs and a lot of higher end G5 HC jobs)

Miami is not out paying Ohio State or any of the biggest public universities in P2 for an OC with his current resume. if close means within 25%-50% of the reported HC salary of this job under discussion, then we differ on definition of "close"

Just Lol. Thought Dawson was very average last year (sure TVD didnt help but some of the gameplans were awful). This year is all Ward who can make a subpar OC look elite.

And didnt we all crown Guidry last year? Look at him now...
I never Crowned Guidry, I saw manny 2.0 honestly. I liked what Dawson did last year however. He’s really good in my book

You have to be a dumbass AD, of which I'm sure there are many, if you're hiring anyone based primarily on results where Cam Ward is extending the plays and pulling the trigger.
Blake James already has a coach...

If he doesn’t want to be a HC he can be here as long as he wants

It’s an interesting position to be in

If you are constantly turning over OCs because they have success and become Head coaches, it can be difficult to replicate the success

However keeping the same OC because they are good but not great, but then you load the roster with talent and a good QB, could be a solid formula for long term success

Prediction: Lashlee to UF, Dawson to SMU
I think Lashlee is SMU's Howard Schnellenberger. His success there is directly related to getting the UM guys to transfer but I think he really loves being the guy there. I don't think he leaves unless forced to do so.

Curious to see if Lashlee can recruit(not Hurricanes) enough talent on both sides going forward. Or will he be more like Riley and just recruit offense

Is Dawson an excellent recruiter? If no, then he'd fail badly at ECU. Skip Holtz was the last good HC at ECU, he recruited FLA heavily.

I’d be stunned if he’s here next year. I thought he was good last year, his QB just lost his mind. Idk what you do about that.
IDK how much say Mario and Mirabal have in the design of the run scheme, but if Dawson could change how they design the runs to be more modern, his offense would be a very good all-around system.
