Cam Giveth, Cam Taketh (some thoughts from Oakland, post-game)

Everyone wants to compare Cam to Mahomes but IMO there is a MUCH more appropriate comparison.

He's Jeff George.

Some people will think I say that with a negative connotation but Jeff George had absolute moments of brilliance. He was a high level gun slinger that could fit any throw into any window, from any arm angle. He could also make some mind numbing decisions and throw some infuriating picks.

This is who Cam is. It's not the last pick 6 he'll throw this year....but it's not the last great performance he'll give us either. He's a high variance, high upside, risk/reward type of player.

Everyone needs to sit back and enjoy the ride.

He's the black Jeff George.

Dude honestly needs to stop with his NFL, 1st round money, Heisman nonsense. Great comeback but dude put us in horrible positions with his dumbass decisions.
Yeah I about choked when he dropped Tom Brady's name in the post game interview. I think his mom needs to have a chat with him.

We are, but we've recruited the position group so well (and it the actual speciality of our HC) that I can't give that much credence.
Seemed to me that Bell played pretty good last night but admittedly there was a lot happening

We will be better when Rivers gets back but doesn’t seem like it’s that dramatic right now

You just can't say Jeff George? Lol

Still can’t wrap my head around the cam interception. One of the strangest things I’ve seen a qb do
My friend (uf fan) usually calls me when Miami’s isn’t looking good. And my tv was a little delayed at the time of the int so I didn’t see the Int in real time, so I knew some bs happened. And as I pick the phone up, Cam proceeds to throw one of the worst interception I’ve witnessed since Jacory Harris. I’m in no means comparing the two or knocking Cam but he has to learn that it’s fine to get rid of it or take the check down earlier in the play. They got the W but a throw from outside of the numbers, across the body, to the opposite hash is a throw you shouldn’t be making even in a video game.

Rant over.

Not only do they need some key guys back, and quite frankly, they need to really clean things up. The defense is having some real issues on the back end. Bottom line, they aren't fast enough, and it may be time to start working in young guys like Z. Patterson and take Damari Brown to Benny Hinn. He is sorely missed
This is spot on!!! We just don’t have the speed we would like in the backend! It’s so obvious. We’re going to have to shake some things up to protect them.

this is it right here IMO. Everything doesn’t need to be a giant play and a TD is still only 6 points. Take what is being given and it will probably soften up for those long shots.

taking early checkdown or dump offs, are a great way to set up 2nd and 3's -- which are great from play-calling standpoint. Also a few methodical drives a game are a great way to give your defense rest (while still scoring a bunch of points)

The box scores the last two weeks are worrying but "Just play more zone defense and take your check downs on offense" are very simple adjustments that not require magic tricks or players to turn into HOF talent.

We have a QB that’s top 3 in Heisman odds, he gets asked a question about the Heisman and responds saying all he cares about is win games and if it lands him in NY he’ll just thank his teammates, and everyone in here is acting like he just started firing off lines about being the Heisman front runner.

Do you guys ***** about everything in real life?

Defense couldn’t stop a runny nose in the first half, receivers dropping balls all over the place, but yeah it was the QB that had 450 total yards and 3 touchdowns that was the problem.
