I'm with you. I'm actually surprised he hasn't transferred yet to be honest; I don't see him playing here at DE.

Sure, but me suggesting what I did doesn’t make it any more dire than it was 10 minutes ago. We need interior defensive linemen, the fanbase knows it, the coaches certainly know it.

So how do we fill the void? I’m not saying moving Chantz inside gives us Gerald Willis in there. Just saying he’s probably not going to get much burn on the edge at all. He’s a team first kid and plays really hard. Pump him up with 6000 calories a day for the next 8 months and lock him in the weight room and see what you can get. Worst case, he stands on the sideline as a 3T who doesn’t play instead of a 255lb edge player who doesn’t play.

Getting really close to the days of fattening up an anthony chickllo to play a position he shouldn't. This guy isn't close to Anthony's talent though.

Without Big Joe we most likely don’t get either Mauigoa. However, I’m with some others in regards to his ability to recruit the actual DT position. DE recruiting is handled by Wright and Jason Taylor to an extent. That area has been fine. We need to do better at DT. Bottom Line.

Anyone in this board who thinks this is how you compete to be better than a 7 win team is delusional. This is bottom of the ACC talent.

You said they were G5, that’s just not true. And of course we can win more than 7 games with this rotation. We’ve won more with less in past years. But I agree it’s not getting us to an ACC Championship or playoff spot. I’m not delusional about the talent level in either direction.

There's still plenty of time to get a big DT or 2 before next season. There's a second portal period after spring ball as well that we did pretty well at last year.
