Cal RB Ott

Our team goes as our offense goes; in particular the turnover factor. If we play clean football with little to no turnovers, we win every game on the rest of the schedule. Maybe Louisville hangs around if we don't turn it over, but I still think we are better. If we turn the ball over, all bets are off.

Yes I realize this is not a Mensa level comment.
We need that first posession TD, that puts so much pressure on the other team knowing Miami is already up and they have to keep up.

That's who I was wanting out of the portal. Kudos to him for sticking it out.

I don't think that's the best way to gauge a team when other dynamics go into it. For example, Old dominion gave up 37 points to VT we gave up 34.
On the season Cal is averaging 23 points per game which is good for 100th nationally. Take away the 31 they scored against FCS UCDavis and it gets worse. They’re not a good offense

The line is 10 so do not expect a blowout.

Yes , they lost to FSU but outgained them 410 to 284 and missed 2 FG

They beat Auburn and also outgained them 332 to 286

On paper, you can argue that they have a better resume coming into our game than VT had.

Not a layup.

They probably have the best defense we’ve played yet but they can’t score. They beat Auburn because the Tigers turned it over 4 times. Should be interesting because our offense has had its way with every opponent. We had three turnovers and a touchdown taken off the board against VT and still scored 38. Cal also hasn’t played a single team with a quarterback. Seriously. DJU is the best quarterback they’ve faced so far this year and I’m being 100% serious about that. The travel and the time difference could be an issue but this otherwise should be an easy victory

One score, a stop and then another easy score...they're likely done short of an epic self destruction by way of turnovers.

I hope you are right and do not disagree with any of your points and there is a decent chance we walk out of Cali with 20+ win but Cal will be prepared to give us their best game for various reasons (motivated Miami QB....Gameday hype..new ACC member).

Limit the turnovers and your prediction of an easy win probably happens.

Well wouldn’t surprise me if he went for 100+ after what the VT RB did and he’s just as talented.

What I saw against VT was more of the same issues from last year defensively (poor tackling/poor run fits). Didnt feel like an outlier either
We never play well against running QB’s. Drone’s fault..

He’s going to get the edge a few times against this defense with a counter or misdirection.

He’ll end up with like 130yds rushing, but most of it will come from 1-2 plays
