C.J Henderson

Shaq is not a good recruiter by nature.... He feels that you should make a decision that is best suited for you and stick with it after you make your decision. I told Shaq its not that simple for everybody... I said show the kid a good time and tell him why you chose Miami... and after 1 season tell him why you think it was a good decision. Telling the truth how it was enticing talking with Nick Satan, or how nice the facilities where at Auburn and Florida but ultimately you decided to play for the team where you felt at home... And how you would rather be on a team where you were needed versus where you wanted... I told him not to be shy to tell of his accomplishments and accolades he achieved not to brag but make success a reality at Miami... and most importantly listen to the kid ... there are about a 1000s different thoughts running thru his head be honest and help him make sense of those thoughts/questions... I told him that Miami could really use this kid and he could help you win.

Excellent advice sir! We need big time players like CJ at this U....

Does Henderson come in and compete right away for a starting position?

Yes. Needs a lot of coaching but raw abilities are there

normally sentiment is raw kids like this should take a shirt. our depth at DB means thats not an option for cj - we need him to compete.

but IMO shirting raw kids like this is a waste of time anyways b/c all they need 15-20 games of film + their elite athleticism and they start shooting up draft boards. Burns is an example (although he was much less raw coming in). same with lots of highly rated CBs this year that have little experience/game film but elite athleticism
