I'm so glad I don't follow this garbage all year long. Otherwise I might have remembered some irrelevant comment or image from Byrd last July or October. Instead, it was very simple to wander into this forum yesterday, sample a few variables, and understand that Tennessee was the favorite. I certainly would have bet it that way.
This isn't one of those deals where everything drifts back to the beginning. Not even close. And that's partially why I choose not to pay attention. I have a family member who is the same way. She'll change her mind every 5 minutes based on whatever strikes her as nice. Drives me nuts. I prefer foundational focus.
As I posted yesterday, I certainly would have felt better if some program other than Tennessee were the obstacle. That team badly outplayed Oklahoma and Florida on the field last season, and played to a physical stalemate with Alabama. It might not pan out this season or the following year but there are legitimate lofty prospects for that team based on sheer returning talent level and what they have shown, not merely some flimsy hopes of a top 5 defensive line due to a new coach from Missouri.
Besides, I expect to lose the major last second decisions much more often than not as long as we are playing in this stadium. If other programs and their recruiting directors don't use clips of that bland joint in any competition against us, they simply aren't doing their job.
Are you a Vols fan? Or live in Tennesse?
His post was actually pretty spot on in a lot of areas. That is why I don't get excited when people start talking about '17 recruits committing. Why even worry about that stuff? Most of these kids don't care about commitment
