If it ever came down to it, Butch would or should be the 1st person that James calls.

It will and always comes down to money when it comes to Miami. If they were to bring in a young up and coming coach like a Chad Morris, a bigger school with more money could snatch him away from Miami in a heartbeat. At this point in his career, Morris is a handsomely paid hired gun, who's looking for the next big paycheck.

Butch has had his big paydays and realizes what he missed out on in Coral Gables. Miami could have him for cheap and doesnt have to worry about losing him when a bigger school comes calling. It's a Win-Win.

Butch as DC please. If Butch became our HC, ncaa would BUY office space in CG until they got us again. Al is fine at HC if he would turn over D to Butch. Oh, recruiting might just improve some. Not that it isn't doing well right now, but Mr. Davis basically recruited most of every NC team we had except the first. Heck, Dline would be good enough.

Every time the Miami AD listens to the players AND the fans, we are in trouble - Randy and Larry best examples ---- and I would argue Kehoe as well. I dont remember many fans screaming for Coker or Shannon. Could be wrong.

The big difference is Butch has a proven track record - arguably one of the best ever - at identifying and developing talent.

We will always have to wonder what kind of dynasty we would have had had Butch stayed back in 01.

- do you think Saban is a great identifier of talent or does he go out and recruit the highest rated guys - this is what butch did
- Butch was a brutal game day coach --- great recruiter--- maybe one of the best

I think Butch will in fact eventually go "home".....to Arky. They'll have had their little buffer from the Petrino mess with a major failure in Bielema so those delusional inbreds will gladly overlook any of Butch's perceived past indiscretions as he'll be sold as one of their own (as an opposite of Bielema) that'll be able to "ra-crewt" in the $EC.

Being 62 probably doesn't help him. Also, even though he was found 150% innocent with UNC, the stigma is still there. He might have even been in contact with lower tier schools, but it fell through for one reason or another. This is a situation where history comes into play. If he ever gets a job again, it will be here. Louisville rehiring Petrino slightly encourages me.

When I was pushing for Olive Garden Petrino to replace Al last year when he was begging for the Ped State job, most people told me there was no chance a BCS program would go near him. The best AD in college put his ego aside and brought Petrino back after Petrino fcked him over directly the last time around.

Winners win. Losers get caught up in fake public perception.

Who gives a **** about ethics, as a fan I want my team to win.

That isn't true. He got highly ranked 5 star players while getting walk ons like Santana Moss and other unsung players. Also, he evaluated at an elite level while at UNC.

His greatest strength is his ability to put together an elite staff.

Only two times I could remember that stand out like that Carlos Jones Pick-6 are:

1) Rabid nature of that home game vs an injured Vick (VTech). Crowd starting chanting Suck my Vick. WestEndZone was in full bloodlust. Vick hobbles in and runs the option. Al Blades comes to headhunt and Vick ducks underneath him. I felt the OBowl vibrate.
2) Hester punt return vs Louisville. I had gotten to the WEZ late (relative to what I usually did) that evening, so we sat up closer to the overhang. When Hester houses the punt, I felt the entire ******* stadium was going to collapse. My head **** near exploded.

I was fine until some introduced the possibility of Butch to uf. Butch or Schiano to uf would be like two mob members joining another family.

It's gonna kill me when this guy gets hired at uf. I hope we get Butch back because we have talent except on DL and he would fix that.
