Butch on College Football Live

Butch was in Auburn doing stuff that was televised on the SEC network. He's got some type of angle. He's Butch Davis. I expect him to be on the sidelines coaching in 2015.

If a tanking occurs this year, which I sincerely hope it doesn't, that's the man to get. Still looks healthy, been around current football until last year, and would come for $37 and a Diet Coke as his annual salary.

I think if there is a coaching change....it will be Schiano.

I hope not. I don't want a MRSA incident.

I just watched Butch's segment. He pretty much campaigned for the job and he wants it bad.

Bump.......does any1 know what the best recruiter n developer in cfb said?

If Al ***** the bed this year fire him ASAP and bring back Butch>>>>>>>Defense instantly improves, along with player development, talent evaluations and every other **** thing!

They were talking about Nick Marshall and went to Butch to ask if his passing was underrated. First thing out of his mouth was, "As a former defensive coordinator and a guy who made his living on defense..." he proceeded to discuss how to handle Marshall and that his passing was average.

They later asked him about Spurrier's comments on Texas A&M's weak schedule. Butch said, "When I was the head coach at the University of Miami, we went out of our way to schedule tougher opponents."

They later asked him about stopping Gus Malzahn's offense and he gave his 2 cents on that and then he predicted Auburn would finish 4th in their division.

All this, "Butch is untouchable," talk isn't true. The only non lower lever school that would potentially hire him is Miami. His name wasn't even in the NCAA report on UNC. If the administration can look at his actual football resume, listen to a large portion of the fanbase, and look past his mistake in 2001 while ignoring a false stigma, they would hire him for cheap. All this only happening only if Golden doesn't rise to the occasion.

Good looks ted

My thing is if Butch goes to Florida,I got this weird feeling especially with there HC on his way out most likely after this season.

I honestly think that the only major school that would hire Butch is us. Florida will want to hire a young up and comer and only a school like us that has the history with Butch that we do would take a chance on him with his false stigma.

Butch has become the beneficiary of "back up QB" syndrome.
Someone tell me why he's not coaching right now?
Sorry, I respect him for what he did at Miami, but he is dirty, period.

Being 62 probably doesn't help him. Also, even though he was found 150% innocent with UNC, the stigma is still there. He might have even been in contact with lower tier schools, but it fell through for one reason or another. This is a situation where history comes into play. If he ever gets a job again, it will be here. Louisville rehiring Petrino slightly encourages me.

Good call on ufayg, but I think muscrat will save his job this year. Their d will be very good, and their o will be good enough to get them 8 or 9 wins.

Someone is going to snap Davis up especially if that lingering academic scandal at UNC disappears. He's way too valuable as a talent evaluator/developer to be sitting in a studio.

How many ships does Butch have as as HC?

Well he's got 3 conference championships and 4 bowl wins, which is 3 conference championships and 4 bowl wins more than Shannon and Golden put together. What's your point?

Not to mention he built the college dream team.

He should have had his shot at a NC in 00, but was robbed of the chance.

When I was pushing for Olive Garden Petrino to replace Al last year when he was begging for the Ped State job, most people told me there was no chance a BCS program would go near him. The best AD in college put his ego aside and brought Petrino back after Petrino fcked him over directly the last time around.

Winners win. Losers get caught up in fake public perception.
