Business decisions

Get the **** outta here with this soft *** take Rumph was brought here to recruit and recruit only he serves 0 purpose on this staff Now

He was hired to coach. He coached Corn Elder from an inconsistent athlete to an elite football player. He coached Adrian Colbert from a future desk job to a rising star NFL DB. He coached Mike Jackson from an attrition candidate into a preseason All-Conference player.

Losing those kids was a failure. A big one. But you get fired for bad results on the field. That hasn't happened yet, and I don't think it will with studs like Gilbert Frierson, Al Blades and DJ Ivey.

Couldn't agree more DMoney!

You guys are a trip. Some of you need to log out for a week or so and get some pu$$y. Disappointment over a 17 year old going somewhere that was a stretch he was going to attend to begin with. Some of you don't pay attention. Nesta was the ONLY one you could say we would have "missed" on if he flipped. TC, Surtain, and Chatfield were never committed here and never linked to Miami outside of being player in South Florida and being coached by Rumph at some point. Kids are kids and all you ever heard about TC was he was extremely impressionable and he became enamored with UGA and all the glitz and glamour of an SEC program. Blaming Rumph for this is funny to me. Yea he coached TC for a while but outside of that he has no influence on this. Why shouldn't TC share the blame for picking UGA after everything Rumph invested in him?

The point is if Rumph is responsible for this then so is TC, it's just as equal. It's obvious TC didn't want to be here and it has nothing at all to do with Mike Rumph. He had the chance to commit and didn't. You commit to a school and not a coach. Get over the Rumph bashing because he's not getting fired over this and will be there recruiting DB's for the foreseeable future. Don't like it? Don't watch.

Again, he was not brought here to coach. He had no experience doing it.

If Richt wanted a tactician he would have hired one.

It's so misleading and frankly appalling that DMoney tries to spin this.

The secondary is bad at almost everything except straight man coverage. And when in man, they are terrible at getting in phase and finding the ball. He's not just not a great coach, he is a BAD coach who is truly useless on this staff. Time to move on.

Tyson Campbell just stated in an interview his decision came last night at 9pm and it was between bama and Georgia

So dudes crying when miami wasn't even it the whole time. So the coach at heritage who said they were just visiting out of respect for rumph was right.

UM fans are complaining BECAUSE we weren't in it. It's not that hard to understand. It's a disgrace.

It's a disgrace bc these south Florida dbs are a disgrace. If Rumph was at UGa where do you think TC was going to commit?? Still UGa.... and we would be mad at Richt for not offerin Rumph the job.

We do this **** every coaching staff... the db coach gets the most heat simply bc south Florida produces the most elite players from that position.

You don't see us screaming for the lb coachs head when we haven't landed a 5 star since Arthur Brown at that position.

Doesn't matter if Nick Saban was our db coach... these groupies are still going to get the **** on to Bama LSU UGA in heartbeat.

Dont be so sure of urself buddy. If Rumph was at GA i would guarantee campbell would have went to Bama.

I like Rumph but I would be crazy to think he wasn’t hired, specifically, to land at least one of the AH DBs.

Kul...if he can’t get the kids who are at Miami to stay and he can’t get the ones who are not to come...

But why is Diaz getting such a pass? If I were a defensive coach recruiting against Miami I would start with Diaz’s defense.

Fine to be critical of Rumph in recruiting, but this is one of the top 10 classes in UM history on signing day. Now it's up to these players and staff to decide if they are the class we signed in 1999 or the class we signed in 2003.

I expect to see people calling for Rumph's head. I don't agree at all, but I get the reaction. Losing those two monsters from his old school was a failure. I also expect to see the usual suspects complaining about South Florida kids choosing to leave town.

Here is the hard truth. If your son is an engineering prodigy, you can't blame him for going to MIT. Alabama and Georgia were in the championship. Saban is the best DB coach alive. These kids want to win championships and go pro.

We need to become the business decision for DBs. That takes time. Nesta Silvera made his own business decision to sign with the best defensive line coach in America. Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory made business decisions to sign with TEU. Jarren Williams made a business decision to sign with a proven developer of QBs.

This is a big-time class. Best offensive class in the nation and very good defensive group. Nesta was the guy keeping me up at night. Him and Ezzard are nasty human beings. Jordan Miller was a gift from the nose tackle Gods. Bethel will be next development project for Rumph. Mike Jackson and Adrian Colbert turned out pretty well.

Richt is one of the most proven recruiters in America, along with Saban and Urban. This class is another feather in his cap.

Right on point DMoney!

With Richt at helm recruiting has improved significantly, but what's hard to accept is the inability to recruit RBs last year when we needed them the most and this year the DTs disaster happened. That was an awful job, whichever way you look at it.

You want people to make a business decision to come to UM?

Don’t sh#t the bed against Clemson in the ACCCG and lose at home against Wisconsin in your own stadium on national television.

Georgia and Bama didn’t f#ck up like that. Earn the trust of the recruiting class.

To a certain extent, it may be strictly business. Are coaches allowed to share financial data of players they help get to league? All Saban and Kirby have to do is present hard numbers in terms of professional contracts of players they coached and I bet these kids are sold. How the **** can Banda & Rumph counter that?
