I hope Ridley and Burgess-Becker announce by each using one hand and throwing up the U together.

Irvin at the end would be my reaction.

The ballers will come. I think all of our last 3 recruiting classes were good enough for us to be very very competitive with pretty much anybody if these kids develop like they should. Hard to gauge goldens ability to do that with his guys yet since 2011 was such a ****** class and the other guys are young. But so far I think our guys have shown growth, more so thn under the previous regime. Maybe not elite, but there's progress being made.

Yeah we've missed out on some guys, but you can't make them come. Can't kidnap them. Gotta coach up the ones you got and we got good ones too I think. Getting these kids in the fold, along with hopefully the down south clique, would be huge mi hope the qb situation for that class is addressed before the season starts.

Coconut Creek (FL) Monarch High School WR Calvin Ridley and DB Shawn Burgess-Becker are announcing their college decisions on Sunday at tryouts for the 7-on-7 Fire team, which begins at 1 p.m.

Both are expected to choose the same school.

So where might they select?

Well, Ridley's mother told CaneSport that if it's up to her they'll be Hurricanes.

"Definitely UM is No. 1, on the top for me," Kassna Daniels said. "He has 10 schools he's picking from - Florida State and Ohio State are in there too.

"But I want him at Miami definitely. They're No. 1. The reason I like Miami so much is it's close to home, easy for me to get to him. And Miami, I just like them."

She says Cane coaches have made a big push recently with her son.

"I talked to the coaches last week, they told me they want him real bad, want him to come there next week and look at the campus, that Calvin is the No. 1 wide receiver they have," she said.

So what will her reaction be if he picks somewhere else?

"I would just go with it, but it's not me because he'd be too far," she said.

Monarch High School coach Calvin Davis weighed in on Burgess-Becker, saying he wants to announce now because "the process is getting to him."

Davis added that "He's just decided where he wants to go," adding that "Miami's made a push, are one of his finalists."

Unless this kid is a Duke Johnson, Jaquan type (according to some) where he's going to shut it down and go all in recruiting for us, will handle this with caution. You all need to remember how many of these "early commitments" tend to work out. Yes its good news, but timing wise, there is way too much to worry about here, and in recruiting, this is a lifetime for sh*t to change.

Shut up. Just because our staff couldn't hold onto to Rudolph, Collins, Bryant, Kearse, etc. doesn't mean an early commitment is a death knell.

Hopefully they've learned a thing or two from those past scenarios and will approach early commitments in a manner that allows them to stick.

If I recall correctly those kids maybe minus Bryant, UM was one of their if not first initial offers..they werent receiving attention like this kid already is I mean look at his top 4-5. I am with you on your thinking though would be huge to start our dominoe effect for '15 days after NSD '14
