Bunche To UCLA

Rose was talking about it this morning. Pretty much ripped Al saying the rotation is BS and tackles shouldn't be playing guard and vice versa.

He said Bunche had enough of that and bolted. Not sure if he was privy to inside information or reading between the lines but he's on point.
.
If that's true, then that sounds awfully similar to what Brandon Washington complained about.

Brandon Washington should probably be worrying about what he's going to do since he's going to be out of the league soon and it seems, from twitter and instagram posts, that all his money is tied up in Jordans.

Our OL massively underperformed. I hope this is a good sign that he may not have seen much action here in 2014.

Sorry but this is an ignorant post... Bwash is doing well for himself... Went from practice squad to back up... Going on year 3... The kid makes 6 figures... He won't go broke from wearing J's especially if that's the most expensive portion if his wardrobe... Face it the staff failed him... All-conference as a sophomore to a 6th round pick as a junior...

Quit with the failed him stuff. For a guy that might be a career back up getting good experience at the tackle spot isn't the end of the world. Hopefully BWash sticks on a roster. A real nice bump in pay going from the practice squad to a roster. If he goes on to be a solid pro then maybe we can say the staff failed him. Hes in the NFL and if he can play hes gonna play. If he ends up a journeyman 5 year pro than his one year at tackle didn't mean ****.

Wasn't Washington pushed out to T because he was our best option there?

I agree that the current rotation is BS and Golden/Coley need to stick their best 5 guys out there and keep them out there.

Sad day to be a cane fan. Well, not really because its clear you are a Al Golden fan and not a cane fan. A coach who turns a player from all conference guard and moves him to tackle that he clearly could not play. And you wonder why he didn't want to come back. For you to believe a full year of tape getting dominated at tackle didn't have an effect on is draft position. Another year of all conference play at guard would not have helped? I bet if the previous two regimes took an all conference player and turned him into a shell of himself you wouldn't be this nonchalant about this. ****, Dyron Dye finally had a full year of playing D-End and made 2nd team confrenece and Bethune.

Yeah I'm an AL fan. Plenty of posts where I was begging him to go PSU. If Washington can play then he can play and he will stick around in the league for awhile. See Sam Shields as an example. If he can't play then hes will be out of the league soon or bounce around hanging on rosters. One year of playing tackle where he may have been the best option wasn't going to ruin his career. I don't think BWash is as good a player as Linder and whats Linder gonna be. A 4th rounder? So what was BWashs best hope after leaving early? Maybe 5th round.

Golden was forced to shuffle the OL due to shoddy Shannon recruiting.
But let's face it wouldn't have made a goddam difference had BW stayed at guard or not.
He still would have left, he still would have been drafted and he'd still be a practice squad player that he is now.
To blame Golden is ridiculous.

Shoddy OL recruiting?? Thats probably the one position Shannon left the roster stacked at.. Brandon Washington, Linder, Henderson, McDermott, Feliciano, Bunche Wheeler all starters and good depth guys in Wheeler and Bunche...

None of those players are worth a dam at Tackle, which is why BW had to be moved there.

Miami's offensive line was not underperforming prior to Johnson getting hurt. As a unit, Miami gave up a total of 17 sacks. Miami could not convert on 3rd down and that was the pervasive problem the entire season. Some of this is play calling, some of this is poor execution and some of it is scheme. Miami wants to inside/outside zone when we've got kids who should be power, trap and downhill zone blocking. Miami was zoning under Whipple so this isn't a Jedd Fisch or James Coley thing.

It was his decision to move to tackle?

What does him playing OT for one year have to do with anything? They had two years of film on him at OG.. He has had several years on practice squads to make his mark. Fact is, he isn't as good as he thought he was. In reference to your question, yes I think it was partially his decision to move to OT.. He could have refused but didn't.

Because he took some heat (or at least some criticism) at left tackle. But he started all 12 games and did reasonably well there. It had zero impact. He was drafted in the 6th round which tells you what the league thought of his potential. He's on a roster and got some PT the last game of the season. He's making decent money. For how long, we'll see?

He will be missed.

Yes he will. It's funny how some people are writing this off as not a big deal. He has been playing since his RSFr year all over the line, but somehow we are to believe unknown projects like Gadbois and Odogwu or true freshmen were going to pass him up. With the departures of Linder,Henderson, and Wheeler, losing an experienced player like Bunche hurts.

And if he wanted to just play or start he wouldn't be going to a team that has a more talent on the Oline.
