BTW vs Uschool tonight

Some quick thoughts:

- Sean White is legit. Good arm, excellent poise and can drop the ball in a bucket. I've seen him a few times, but I was really excited to watch him against this kind of speed. He didn't disappoint, even though the rest of his team couldn't keep up. LuCane used an Andy Dalton comparison, and I think that is right on.

- Canes fans should be very excited about Mark Walton. At the risk of sounding Sanduskish, the guy has a huge lower body. He is going to develop into a monster. Booker T's spread offense isn't exactly tailored to his strengths, so expect him to really explode over the next two years after Treon Harris leaves.

- Chad Thomas had a tremendous game. He is absolutely huge and should explode with a college strength program. He got bullied a bit against Gorman earlier this year, but when he fills out he will be a Justin Tuck-type player.

- Demetrius Jackson had a sack and some pressures but still looks a little less than 100% with his ankle. He made an impact, though, and disrupted White's passing lanes all night by jumping up and trying to swat the ball.

- Quincy Wilson played abysmal. I thought he would be a solid safety coming into the year, and he certainly looks the part. But he struggled against his biggest test of the year.

- Sam Bruce is a baller. He played both ways and was extremely physical, even running over Nigel Bethel at one point. He has a lot of dog in him.

- I was surprised by how Booker T's little receivers were able to manhandle University's DBs on the edges. Every time Booker T got outside they had nothing but open grass. Credit to Ice Harris and his staff for having his team ready to play in all phases.

I rarely criticize kids, but I have to admit that QW was awful. I realize it was only one game, but he did not remotely play like a "Big 3" type player.

D$, what about the BTW kicker? I realize he barely has kicks, but that field goal at the end was straight down the middle and would easily have been good from an extra 10+ yards.

He looked good. Peter told me he was killing it in the practice he went to.

I don't actually watch much HS football, but I've watched BTW a couple times this year because our best hopes for a defense is there. As usual, our three new defensive players looked like monsters, but Walton really made me take notice. Can't wait for that kid. The long pass he caught on the drive from the one yard line was really something. Kid is going to be a big beast and he can catch ball downfiled like a WR. Reminded me a little of Willis.

Also, I am having second thoughts about Harris. I am nervous about the possible drama if we offer as QB and he sits on the pine, but I don't want to face him for three years at FSU. Plus, he does the most important thing for a qb--moves the chains and puts points on the board. MAybe staff should reconsider. I think Olsen and Kaaya are our future, but would not mind having Treon baking them up. I prefer a drop-back pocket passer, but I also want a aggessive up the field defense, since we are clearly not getting that, let's start scoring points.

What I find comical is that most on this site screamed to the mountain top this past summer when Golden did not offer Wilson. Folks were outraged and said some stupid stuff about Golden and his recruiting of S. Fl players. Well, it seems Coach was right and many of the wannabe
Coaches on this site were dead wrong once again...

Quincy Wilson is out here playing two-hand touch. Extremely disappointing performance.

It was one play relax kid

How'd that work out for you? Chad is that you?
