I saw the game in person tonight, a couple things that I noticed. Remember these comments are based off of what I saw tonight nor do I claim to be an expert.
The refs sucked, they were slow and terrible. The three in the middle of the field all had ridiculous sized guts on them. Field was a complete dump, embarrassing. Only kept the time and score on the scoreboard. Baseball field was pristine though, won two state titles in 2004 and 2005.
Chad Thomas and Demetrius Jackson are both huge. Chad Thomas even more so, he is built differently than everyone else. When he got the sack and threw up the U, that was probably the loudest the place was all night. Demetrius Jackson is not afraid to get his nose in a scrum or a pile. Almost too much sometimes IMO, I'm would not call it dirty, but he is a guy you hate if he is not on your team. He cost his team 15 yards for an unsportsmanlike during a mini scrum after a face mask on them already, so his stupidity was magnified even more. I like the intensity, it is something you can't teach, but you have to make sure that he uses it to his advantage as opposed to it being a weakness for him.
Nigel Bethel is very physical as a corner. The few times I watched him he looked to engage the receiver every time, many time 10-15 yards down the field. He got burned on a double move one time, but I liked what I saw out of him for the most part.
I don't think I need to say anything else about Quincy Wilson.
Treon Harris is on a different level out there than everyone else when he is evading the other team. Second time watching him and he makes defender after defender miss with ease. Wasn't jaw-dropping spectacular with his arm, but he made a lot of the necessary throws when needed. Very, very impressed by him.
Mark Walton is really legit. He is a big a part of their offensive game plan. He is physically solid as **** for a sophomore and he is extremely tough to tackle. Bruce stood him up one time on the goal line, but he never was actually able to bring Walton down to the ground. The cut back on the screen pass was also really nice.
Jordan Scarlett I was impressed with earlier on in the game when he was getting touches on a more consistent basis. They guy going to the Air Force looked pretty nice too earlier on in the game.
Shaun White performed better than what I would have guessed from what I have heard. Has a strong, accurate arm and can make some plays with his feet as well. Isn't afraid of contact and looked like a leader out there.
Didn't watch Yeargin really that closely to make a comment on him. Didn't notice him though I suppose.
Booker T. has a Venezuelan kicker that is a freshman. Kid has an absolute boot punting and kicking. Need to get on him.
