Brohm looking to push the conspiracy theory nonsense

ESPN is running along with it too.

And they still haven’t been favoring us. We don’t get the benefit of a lot of calls like missed holding penalties. Only stuff that is reviewable and blatant are we getting called correctly.
I understand that but in the past those calls never went our way. Remember the Don Chaney fumble last year? He was clearly down and that call still didn’t get overturned

I didnt read all four pages of this thread, but here's my theory.

At the end of the Va Tech game, UM should have lost, but the ACC knows they have one team this season that can be marketed at a high level, and that UM. So they gave us the call against Va Tech.

Immediately after that, we began to see the national media begin to create a narrative that UM is getting favorable calls from the ACC (oh the muther fcukingg Irony!). Even though 2/3rds of the nation did not see the second half of the UM vs Cal game, the national sports media made **** sure they all saw the non targeting call at the end of the game.

Coming into today, it was clear that the announcers were told to play up that angle. They seemed hyper-focused on pointing out anything that the ACC officials missed against the Canes. I expect it to continue as the season progresses.
Maybe I'm misreading your post, but the replay officials didn't "give us" the incomplete call against VT, it was absolutely the correct call.

Exactly.i said that in the game thread.

They’re told to let it play out because if it is an incomplete pass review will get it ( hopefully in our case) but if its blow dead and they find out it was a fumble there’s nothing can be done…
The problem is that once again the on field crew got the call clearly wrong. So they not only let it play out (which I agree is the right move), but then also called it a fumble and a touchdown on the field. That puts the focus on “standard of review” for opposing fans, coaches, and commentators rather than just an objective assessment of the correct call.

Hold up….they seriously think that because the ACC has one dude who emigrated from Cuba to the city of Miami that it’s a conflict of interest for him to be a ref??? Do they…know what conflict of interest means?

Wikipedia says he also called Notre Dame games btw 🤣

I think you nail it with regards to a "Cuban from Miami cheating on behalf of the Canes" conspiracy.
If only they knew that many of the Cubans I know don't follow or even despise the Canes, especially the FailedIU, fu and fsu alums.
This is up there with Canes' Cartel buying players.

I thought it was fairly obvious that Cam's arm was moving forward and it was a forward pass and it wasn't really debatable. Just my opinion.
Same here. As it was happening live, when I saw the Loserville player running with the ball my first reaction was that somehow it never hit the ground and he intercepted it, because there wasn't even a nanosecond of doubt in my mind that it was a pass.

It was clearly an incomplete pass. The refs let it play out because that’s what you are supposed to do just in case knowing that replay will overturn it.

It was not really debatable.

Now enter Brohm in his post game presser- “it’s happened a couple times” implying that suddenly the ACC loves Miami. ***** move from a good football coach

they got so many calls it wasnt even funny. he should shut up.

They didn’t get it wrong. They are now taught to let plays like that go, in case it was actually a fumble. You can always change it after review, but if you blow it dead, you can’t change it. They did it 100% by the book and were 100% correct on the call.

I’m not disagreeing with that. I’m saying they could’ve let the play go and after the guy scored said, “The ruling on the field is an incomplete pass.” Then on replay you need indisputable evidence it was a fumble. When the call on the field is fumble and touchdown, then on replay you need indisputable evidence it’s a forward pass. Same issue with the VTech Hail Mary call. The ruling on the field each time is putting UM on the wrong side of the standard of review and giving opponents an opening to argue you shouldn’t change the call on the field.

You can’t call it incomplete and then give them a scoop and score, if replay says it was a fumble. It has to be called a fumble on the field, or the play is dead when the ball hits the ground and they assess whatever they consider immediate recovery is now a days. Meaning no TD no matter what.

Exactly. They just decided he’s a Miami booster who lives and breathes all Miami sports teams, just because he grew up in Miami and is Cuban. Zero proof. Shows how little they know of our culture.
