Briggs update per itu

The failure isn’t in this class, it’s in last years only bringing in Ford.

Which is why I'm worried that we only bring in Joyner this year at LB. You never know what's going to happen with future classes, attrition, or guys leaving early for the draft. We need to bring in another LB in this class.

Moving to a 4-2-5

Did you watch Miami play in 2017? Diaz refuses to employ a 4-2-5.

Thats because he's playing the best 11. We are infusing more talent at Defensive Back now through recruiting. Our best 11 will have include more DB's going forward.

I'd take Nesta over vincent too. I'm just simply stating what the other poster mentioned is incorrect. Especially when all recruiting services have him at the top, not a scrub.

I see what you are saying. Vincent is not from Florida and some like Briggs better. IMG kids are often not included into discussions regarding Florida recruits. Either way we are getting #1 and #2 or #1 and #3 . Whichever way you choose to label it...... it's awesome.

Hey either way we cant go wrong with 2 of the top 3 d-tackles.

Vincent isn't from Florida.

So we will sign the #1 and #2 DT prospects in Florida this cycle. Do you crazies approve?
Can you stop pushing that narrative bc it's ure opinion. In every thread you rehash the same thing.

Firstly, taron vincent at img (the number one rated dt in the entire 2018 class) and secondly this year is a down year for dt's in FL. Nesta, Vincent and Briggs are basically the only dt's worth a **** this cycle.

Not a slight on you, just bothers me how it's continually #1 and 2 and I'm not sure if you just blindly avoid Vincent or not.

He's a dt that plays at a school in Florida for the past two years I think it was? Coincidentally when our new staff took over.

Not saying he was a get or a target we lost, just stating the other dt that played in Florida

Miami had Silvera rated way better as a prospect than Vincent.

Like I said Silvera brings a pure nastiness we haven't seen in Coral Gables since Big Vince.

Will feel a lot better if we can land Briggs and Chatfield. Would still like to see one more DT in addition to Briggs but it’s not a complete disaster if we don’t get a third.

I would be happy with a finish of:

Briggs
Chatfield
Ezzard
One more O-Linemen (Goss?)

Would be ecstatic if we could add Campbell to that group. I don’t think Bethel is a take wouldn’t be happy settling for him.

He's a Cane.
Pete, do you agree?

Canes:
Briggs
Nesta
Chatfield
Campbell

I'll concede PSII but anything is possible.

too early to say on Campbell but I'm confident on the others

Stay tuned. Would be an A+ finish if this staff can pull TC, but would still be an A with high honors without him.

Campbell is a silent I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. But I think he's already told the staff he's coming just enjoying the process.

But when you do that there is always a chance of him being persuaded to go elsewhere.

Way to go out on a limb C91

Sounds like you were more confident on Campbell a month or two ago. Interesting.

Of course he was. Literally everyone was more confident on Campbell a month or two ago, including his cousin who posts here.

Agree.

Thought Briggs was a silent, then when I saw that he didn't go to the ND game it was a major red flag.

At any rate, glad that it looks like he'll be in the class.

Now we need a JUCO DT to put next to Willis next year.

He's a Cane.

Huge! Briggs will be a stud lined up next to Nesta.

Would rather a grad transfer. I think Kool will have Ford and Bethel ready regardless.

[TWEET]946121476918398976[/TWEET] these are crazy numbers for a dt. Idk if Briggs is better than Vincent but he sure is more productive. We know nesta is the best in the country

Amazing football production from our 2 DT potential signees. I wonder if anyone's ever signed 2 DTs in the same class with over 100 tackles.

Silvera is ready to step in right away. Briggs will need a little time in the weight and nutrition rooms.

So it looks like we got a DT? ****, would have thought that was impossible with how this board was reacting during an effing dead period.

Didn't read whole thread, but I just looked at Briggs for the first time. 6'4, 250 and plays DE in high school. Why does he project as a tackle? Frame to add weight? Not quick enough to play end?

I didn't watch his film and don't have the time today to read the thread so if anyone can give a quick scouting report it'd be much appreciated.

He isn't fast enough to play DE @ the collegiate level, but his motor is responsible for his production. Kind of reminds me of Shayon Green... He's plays stout, and appears dedicated, but still a project in my eyes that needs alot of weight, and technique.

His competition in HS sucks @ss too, so he didn't even need technique (which explains alot)!!

Maybe Kool can being it out of him though!

I've mentioned this before but I could see him getting burn at sde early in his career. He has as much film or more at de than at dt. He also has a great get off, uses his hands like a college vet with a nice move set for a HS kid.

Doesn't have the greatest speed but he looks pretty strong. It was nice to see he constantly stays with the play , never gives up. Constantly getting to the bsll, no matter how far downfield.

Another positive was him catching passes at te and throwing some good blocks too.

big time optimistic thinking, but he could be a john randle-type tackle at that weight. kid has one **** of a motor on him and is killing interior linemen already at 250. obviously he's going to get bigger to fill out that 6'4" frame, but he's got some serious talent right now and we don't have depth.

primarily plays at tackle and also shifts out to end.

After that army game Nesta looks like a whole different prospect to me, dudes get off was amazing to watch.
