Looks like some of you doomsdayers won't have to worry about the Noles hiring an 'up and coming' mid-major coach
t don't know about FSU but what do you base your statement when it comes to Miami?FSU and Miami aren't serious about basketball.
All in on football
He’s had around 47 posts bemoaning the selection of Lucas. Tiringt don't know about FSU but what do you base your statement when it comes to Miami?
My wife won't listen to me complain, so I have to vent somewhere. He’s had around 47 posts bemoaning the selection of Lucas. Tiring
Sam is likely to get an NBA HC job soon, so it makes sense, especially if he knows FSU isn’t serious about funding and supporting their program, which they obviously aren’t. Serious programs don’t make these hires.Wonder if Cassell passed on the job. Interesting.
He will be the third head coach, if Christie keeps the Kings job as that’s currently being reported, to emerge from Mike Brown’s Kings staff.
I think Jai is a terrific person. My wife won't listen to me complain, so I have to vent somewhere.
If I didn't care so much about Miami basketball I wouldn't post anything.
It's also interesting that we have 2 other very knowledgeable basketball posters that aren't exactly excited over the hire either in @AmherstCane and @Canedude08 . I would put those 2 posters against anyone on this board from a pure basketball and this program knowledge.
We should be a NCAA tournament team in 2-3 years if this hire is as great as some of you think.

I’m willing to bet that the Boozer twins are not coming to Miami. They are Duke Legacy kids, and they aren’t leaving that just because an assistant left. Will be a tournament team next year if he brings the Boozer twins.

I suspect Boozers to Miami is squarely in the realm of fan fantasy. Not an assistant.
The assistant who recruited them to Duke.
DUKE got those kids there, that and their alum father. Stop it. Stop acting like Lucas had some Svengali role. You or I could have sold those young men on Duke. Not an assistant.

Nah, the way people hype him up, I’m expecting tourney in the 1st year and every year. No excusesMy wife won't listen to me complain, so I have to vent somewhere.

I don’t think he is fully prepared to step in as the HC of a P5 team.
In his interview with Joe Z he talked about prioritizing defense… but also pushing tempo offensively and scoring in the 80s.
That sounds AMAZING… except it is *almost* impossible to do in the real world.
Sure, it works with Cooper Flag and 4 other top-20 recruits… but that’s not a realistic roster for us in the next 3-5 years (if ever).
So… those comments unfortunately reinforce my fundamental concerns that the guy is gonna have to figure out what his style and strategy is while also learning to be a head coach.

Players notifiedWow, so Boozer twins to Miami! We rollin'?
