Breaking down the Canes schedule

"And there will be showdowns against three in-state rivals that will be looking to avenge losses to Miami and end the Hurricanes’ reign as Florida’s top program, a crown the Hurricanes earned in 2024 after notching wins over four different Sunshine State opponents."

Can we not refer to any programs other than fsu/uf as in-state rivals?

USF/UCF are no more rivals than FAMU or Bethune-Cookman. Just happen to be the next team on the schedule

We only play 4 total road games, so gonna be tough to play 5 of the last 6 away from home.

We play 3 of the last 6 away from home.

At SMU
vs Cuse
Vs NC State
At VT
At Pitt

The schedule is tougher than last year but it sets up OK. The only things I don't like are BYE-FSU-BYE so early in the year, and because of that, we play 6 consecutive Saturdays to end the season.

Also, although we only get 4 road games, 2 will likely be in the cold and they're to end the year, in Blacksburg and at Pitt.

This is dumb to do without seeing the final roster, but if we beat Notre Dame, I think we can definitely win 10 games.

My guess is Vegas will set the total at 8.5.
In many other years, I would be all about that schedule quirk where we get a bye before and after FSU.
But FSU has a long ways to go and I think one of those byes would be better served later in the year.
It is what it is.

I agree. Weird thing is, North Carolina has the exact same bye weeks as us.
Duke has the weird bye game bye on their schedule too.

I know many will blame Mario for losing any games we shouldn't, but this Miami culture permeates multiple coaches. I believe there will be several winnable games that don’t bounce our way.

TG weekend games over the last 7 years (no TG weekend game Covid year).

lol yall act like it’s gonna be 10 degrees in Pittsburgh in November.
Just checked out the average temps for those towns on those dates.
Blacksburg- 45 degrees
Pittsburgh- 44 degrees
I bet one of those games will be a day game, 50 and sunny.

Less worried about the cold itself but VT/Pitt are just generally unpredictable on a yearly basis. Outside of ND I think Louisville is the toughest game by far. Ufag is mid and SMU lost a lot of difference makers and we physically match up well stylistically against them.

Tough schedule, especially the first 6 opponents. Then end the season with 2 road games. If we go 10-2 with this schedule we’re in the playoffs
Depends on how the conference plays out. This is a much tougher schedule than last year but we had an easy schedule last year. That all said, I dont think the SOS will help us as much as you think.
