Brashard Smith

They’ve been somewhat more creative with him than I expected but a few more touches would be nice. Something to get him to the outside.
I think the creativity is the main focus for him to find success. Because as it is now almost every time we bring him in we're sending him on either a bubble screen or a wheel route. Both pretty easy routes to cover. We got to get a lot more creative for him.

Everyone uses CJ as this example. But I'm not positive he's the best of comps. Where's CJ excels is in straight line speed. He's a North & South runner. Brashard to me is a clone of Robbie Washington. Where he's in and out of his cuts and excels to top ends in a heartbeat. They both struggle on the physical side of the game. I really wish we'd find some kind of way to get both Washington's more involved in game days.
**** I’d like to see him at db over Richard

Still though, to me it’s not even about RB vs WR, how’s he’s being utilized in Lashlee’s offense, etc….its more so he looks more dynamic with the ball in his hands, more electric, faster, etc. For example, at UM I felt like he didn’t have the wiggle / shiftiness he has now. Or he often got tracked down from behind. Now he’s out there looking like LaMichael James.
Sometimes people just need to move on, get into a new environment to flourish. I don't think Smith would have done as well if he had stayed at Miami. I'm actually happy he's at SMU, win/win. But for the idiots saying he wasn't talented, you should get your eyes checked.
I saw Brashard play in Palmetto high school, and I am pretty certain he played a lot of RB. I recall he played more RB than WR in high school, and when the palmetto high school QB got hurt before the playoffs, Brashard was the QB who ran the ball in designed runs himself on about 90% of their offensive plays.

I am happy for Brashard because he committed to play for us, never complained and then transferred where he is getting his opportunity. The disappointing thing for me is that Brashard transferred from UM and he might become an all ACC RB at SMU, while our running game is struggling with a transfer from Washington who probably got an NIL bag to come here.

Which is understandable for a wr moving to rb. But as you know there’s ways around that with somebody as talented as him. You can get that guy touches with tosses , reverses , wild cat , and other creative ways. There should’ve been 8-10 times a game he just hit the ball in space .
exactly the way Lashlee is using him......He's had 119 and 129 yards rushing the past two weeks. also caught a few passes. One really nice pass last night in a big spot

Those were his friends his x teammates....something happened behind closed doors that we do not know about for him to act like that. We will never know but I side with the U even if Mario was forcing him to watch the FSU and UGA game as punishment.
If I had to take a gander he was probably *****ing about touches. I’m sure there were other things I could not care less about lol worked out for both parties.
