Bradley Jennings decommits.

gimme jennings and wilder.

thx

With as can't miss as this last class was at LB, I'm fine with taking both of these dudes, + Steed. That's another strong trio, and yeah one probably won't pan out, but the other two will be very solid.

Bud also tweeted that FSU wants him in their class. He's just got to spin the development first.

Only an idiot would argue FSU doesn't really want him. The kid just posted his scholarship offer from FSU. The idea that they only offered him because he was a legacy is equally retarded, and just an excuse FSU fans, or FSU fans that hang out on a Miami board pretending to be Miami fans (like tpres) would say. FSU didn't offer Weldon. He's the legacy of one of the greatest players in FSU history. So clearly they aren't handing out scholarships to kids simply because their dad played at the school. They offered Jennings because they want him. They didn't offer Weldon because they don't.

They were late to the Weldon party because they wanted to see him perform on his rehabbed knee. Now that won't offer him because they dont' want the perception to be that they lost him to their rival.

dunno that they'd be dumb enough to not offer a kid due to that perception but lets hope so

We're going to end up with Weldon's kis, this guy, and Brad Johnson's kid. Weird....

Well lets see what happens and lets hope this is not Shavar Manuel 2.0!

Recruit Shavar Manuel's flip to Florida State Seminoles from Florida Gators planned, assistant coach boasts

Noles in know on Shavar Manuel's flip from Gators, coach boasts

Defensive tackle Shavar Manuel's flip from Florida to rival Florida State on national signing day Wednesday was a strategic move two weeks in the making that the Seminoles were well aware of, according to an FSU assistant coach.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound four-star recruit from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, had been told, according to defensive ends coach Brad Lawing -- who coached at Florida in 2013 and 2014 -- to "play the game" and "tell the **** Gators anything they want to hear."

Manuel, the 72nd-ranked player in the ESPN 300 and 10th at his position, had committed to Florida on Jan. 5.

"Shavar had told me the night before, 'I'm a Seminole,' and then he committed to Florida," Lawing said during FSU's annual signing day party, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "I called him up, asked what's going on, and he said, 'I'm just getting some pressure from people.'

"So he didn't just flip tonight. We've known about this for about two weeks."

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher told FM 96.9 The Game in Orlando, Florida, that he wouldn't define Manuel's flip as choreographed but said the Seminoles felt "very good" about their chances of picking up the defensive tackle.

"He always was wanted here," Fisher said. "He loved Florida State back in the spring and a couple of years before that. He felt very comfortable here.

"I don't know why he flipped to Florida, and we called and asked if it's over, and he said, 'No, I want you to keep recruiting me,' so we kept recruiting him normally and he ended up flipping to us."

Amid the hoopla surrounding many letter-of-intent signings, Shavar inked his, on Lawing's advice, at his house in private, away from the influence of anyone beyond his family, according to the Sentinel.

"He was good to his word, and he is pumped up to be at Florida State," Lawing said.

Florida State began signing day at No. 3 in ESPN's class rankings but vaulted LSU to finish No. 1 after also landing ESPN 300 prospects Carlos Becker, Landon ****erson, Dontavious Jackson and Brian Burns.

"Our coaches did an outstanding job of building personal relationships, some of which are two, three or four years old," Fisher said. "It really doesn't matter where we rank. I want to rank the classes after they leave. But I'm aware of where we're ranked at, and it's a testament to how hard our staff worked."

What does this have to do with Jennings?

Didn't mean to down vote. I thought you were rokulika

Isn't johnson's kid his nephew? Tough one. Go play for your dad's school or play for your uncle.

Agree. Give me all 3 and lock it up. People say we are loaded at LB but we are a few dumb decisions where someone gets suspended, or a few bad injuries away from being in serious trouble at that spot. Esp since we dont know what we have in Owens. We are about to lose JYoung. McCrary and MSmith are unknowns.

Wilder seems to be a mystery though.

Why recruit the legacy of your heisman runner up when you have studs like JJ Cosentino and Sean Maguire right? GTFO.

I don't think we're loaded at linebacker in any way. I think it's one of our thinnest positions. I think we have Grace and Quarterman who we can feel pretty good about, and everyone else is a question mark right now in my opinion. Grace leaves us after this year.

I don't understand only signing two linebackers, both 3-stars, in this year's class. This is the biggest recruiting head-scratcher so far in the Richt era. If there aren't studs locally, go out of state if you have to. But don't leave us with massive gaps in the roster that can be fixed by recruiting depth

Right...take Wilder and Jennings and that fixes depth issues for a few years at LB. Stack the talent and create competition

lol. How can a three page thread have this many FSU fans pretending to be Miami fans? There are at least three obvious ones. There's no way an FSU forum is like that with pretend Miami fans, right?

I agree with adding Wilder, but I don't think it "fixes" the depth issues at all. Grace is better than any linebacker we're taking in this class, and we're losing him. So in 2018 we will be worse at linebacker than today. I would want them to sign Wilder and at least one other 4/5 star can't miss type. Someone as good as or better than Grace was coming in. That way we don't take a step back when he leaves

Jennings is severely underrated. I think he is better than Wilder, but I want them both

His film reminds me a bit of Brandon Spikes. Powerful thumper against the run straight up but struggles vs the pass and in open space.

Spikes turned out to be an extremely impactful and productive player despite those shortcomings.

Anyone else see the similarities?

Huge part of it, yes. I also wonder if the garbage that's been going on at FSU the last several years has anything to do with it. I honestly wouldn't want my son playing football there, and not because I'm a Miami fan.
We're going to end up with Weldon's kis, this guy, and Brad Johnson's kid. Weird....

Mark Richt effect. In the case of Weldon, there is no doubt Casey was comfortable with his kid playing for Mark.

Most evals of this kid include the word "tough". Might not be a freak but we've needed an infusion of toughness at every level for about a decade. Not a bad 2nd or 3rd linebacker in the class.
