Bobby Washington (nothing bad)

It isn’t the same. Nick had a top class after year 1 and won against three ranked teams that year. He went to the sec title game in year 2 as an unbeaten and lost to UF w Tebow. Bama was Ina. Worse spot than we are when nick took over. It’s not even realistic to even put both in the same convo.

Bama had 9 NFL players on the roster (rounds: 1, 2, 3 x2, 7x2, UDFA x 2- played 8 & 9 years) when Nick landed. Kids that signed with Bama in 2006 or earlier.

Miami without the 2022 transfers and HS kids: find me >9 guys that will play years in the NFL.

Who are you taking for your boosters- Miami or Bama?
Who are you taking for fans that drive revenue - Miami or Bama?
What Miami has going for it: ACC Coastal <<<<SEC West, Recruiting Location, AND Rad/Hightower are as good as you get.

Nick also lost to #3 but did beat Tenn (12th in final AP). He also didn't have the top class in 2007 or 2008.

we dont develop anyone here. JW was wanted by every. major program in the country. he'd be a stud at UGA right now and Ill bet you your entire life on it. we dont help any talented kid here. Romello was wanted by the SEC West. a lot of the kids on this roster were wanted by major programs and we dont develop anyone. we haven't in a long time.

ALSO, the SEC west then wasn't what the SEC west is now. Saban is part of the reason why that division is supremely powerful. before, it was literally two schools thats it.

mike shula, mike price, etc are not exactly top tier hires. thats the reason they fell off till Saban got there.

they went all in on nick to resurrect a forgotten power.

we dont have the excuse about money anymore. we gave Mario top 10 money and a top 10 budget to build out his staff. im sorry you think everyone but Columbus bro sucks, but I expect to beat mother ******* middle Tennessee state. if that isnt possible in year 1 at ******* home, then I want middle Tennessees coach since he can blow the brains off Marios team even in a first year w mostly manny holdovers. dont give me an excuse.

also, youre gonna be super sad when you find out Mario Cristobal isnt nick Saban. hes nt and HE WILL NEVER BE. stop using nick as an example. nick has won more as an HC before he took his third major college job than Mario ever has (this is Marios third HC job). nick spent time as an actual DC in the NFL. Mario has never coordinated a single unit in his entire life where he was the signal caller.

the best Mario can be is dabo who is the outlier (former non coordinator who ends up hitting gold). Orgeron was a product of an amazing hire in Brady that turned that **** offense into a stud for a one year wonder.

LSU hadn't won the SEC from 88 until Nick got there in 2000 (they won in 01).

You were the one that tried to compare Mario and Nick. I'm well aware they aren't the same. I also think Nick has a ton more $$$ than Mario. His staff is massive. His recruiting budget is massive. The booster budgets are massive.

2005 Bama was top 10 along with LSU, Auburn was top 25. 2006 Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas were all ranked. I'm not seeing this "SEC west was literally two schools." Les Miles won the BCS in 2007. Auburn won it in 2010. Bama won it in 2009 and 2011. I don't see ANYONE in the coastal making the CFP let alone winning it all in the next 3 years. Now tell me how many were top 10 in the last 3 years? Pitt at 13 in 2021 was the best ACC Coastal team since Miami in 2017. SEC WEST >>>> ACC COASTAL and it isn't even close.

I'll have to disagree that every kid needs to get coached up to play in the NFL. What I'm seeing wrong with the Miami team: 1) #24 (mostly) giving up 4-5 TDs by jumping routes he shouldn't have. 2) Gattis being a dumb *** by not playing to TVD's strengths. 3) Injuries. 4) Redzone play calling that sucks...see Gattis. 5) Turnovers and missed FGs.

I didnt. I said its not even a comparison. there are people trying to claim nick and Mario

look, gattis deserves a lot of blame but dont fool yourself thinking hes not running what Mario wants down at the RZ or even overall. Mario is a conservative coach who believes in tough and physical

this staff as constructed will not win ****

OK. I see a ton of positives for Mario's position which I stated. I just don't think Miami has as much NFL material on the roster as Bama in 2007. That said, Mario has a MUCH easier path to winning so he better figure it out quickly!
Throwing for 500+ should continue as we are likely to break far more big plays against the rest of the coastal. The Redzone issues should get resolved with health (Chaney, George, X, Nelson, Clarke), figuring out WHO can win the 50/50 game (Young?), and less forced runs. Spread the formation out and force the D to cover all 53 yards! I 100% agree that this staff isn't going to win a Natty... just like 2007 Bama wasn't built to win one. 2008 had a new OC and new co-DC. Mario has to land Elite kids and evolve as a coach.

It never hurts to have more NFL level OL! I'm disappointed in the OL but I think that changes IF we can pass the ball and score doing so. This will force teams to back out of the box even in the redzone giving us a more balanced O.
