dont compare Mario to nick Saban please. they're not even close as coaches. Saban had a national title he built at LSU and built up a middling MSU team before then. he also did a 2 year stint in the NFL before going to Bama.

That and the Patriots were the kings of plug and play players everywhere, but at the QB position. It didn't matter what WR's mx RB's, etc they had, they produced. They weren't the most elite talent team in the NFL by any stretch of the imagination.

I also remember them talking about the Wonderlic and how their squad (at least the one year this was) has the highest average score in the NFL.

Tom was incredible, but he did his thing with a lot of different players lining up in his time there.

I see an athletic player, but man oh man is he going to take a lot of coaching to make him into a linebacker. Wish he played more of a LB'er role consistently, but they're lining him up all over the place to try and use his athleticism.

It's a crap shoot at that point on how good he can become.
Yeah, he will take work. The length and speed is pretty unique. I see a great special teams player at minimum. One bright spot is that he plays in space quite a bit, both at Palmetto and in 7on7. He’s not stiff.

Like most of these guys, it will come down to his capacity for work and willingness to take coaching.

Sounds like he'll be used in the now Chase Smith ST role in year 1

Agreed. I’m not sure which LB position would fit him best.
think he would be good 3-4 OLB that blitzes or drops into coverage.

Honestly that was horrible
If he does that a d1 rb is just gonna bounce off and keep running
He needs to wrap up

Popo Aguirre will be a legit day 1 contributor here at LB

But the formula is the same that’s why patience is the way to go. Culture change is a nice buzzword for saying we need better players. U have to recruit this is a rebuild like I said thousands of times. When every HC got hired they were left with rebuilds. This is a rebuild. Have to change the talent to change the culture.

It isn’t the same. Nick had a top class after year 1 and won against three ranked teams that year. He went to the sec title game in year 2 as an unbeaten and lost to UF w Tebow. Bama was Ina. Worse spot than we are when nick took over. It’s not even realistic to even put both in the same convo.

We need a roster of NFL prospects. We've been playing with JAGs for years.
