I'm absolutely not pushing the "we need a Miami guy!" narrative. Hiring some dude from FAU whose only "major program" experience is at Mizzou as an underling would just be beyond underwhelming in my opinion- disirregardless of any success his parents or siblings have had elsewhere.

I hear you. I want Jurich or Long, but I wouldn't mind having a young whippersnapper in a secondary role.

I'm definitely not opposed to that either but I just want at least one of these two things:

A) They have displayed a clear ability to assess coaching talent as an AD by making home run hires at a lower level (Sun Belt/MAC type schools) after having at least some lower level experience at a "big time" program

OR

B) They've risen the ranks at a "big time" program and are second in command there and looking to be "THE guy" somewhere else.

Obviously only cursory skimming on my part but this dude at FAU has neither and now people are just citing the success of his family members which beyond maybe some ancillary "connections" is irrelevant.

Overdue, while I'm happy, I'm ****ed that our current recruiting class sucks ******** and the timeline for changes will likely go well into December early signing, especially if they are waiting on Mario. It's very possible he makes the playoffs so this is going to be an interesting few weeks. Make the playoffs and leave, seems crazy.

In the short term, the ONLY thing that matters is nailing the AD hire and then that AD hire subsequently nailing the HC hire.

Everything else will fall into place after that. Kids will come if there is hype and the hires are well received.
