Bill O'Brien

As Al has said before....MIAMI is a destination job. He has very publicly told player after player, recruit after recruit that he is not going anywhere.
PERIOD

Last year we was worried about these threads.

Now we either cool with him walking and/or actively want him to leave.

Al would be nuts to leave after our **** storm just ended to go to another program on the middle of their sanctions.

1 - If Bill O'Brien left, i would be disappointed. Not because i don't think it's fair to him.....the mess there wasn't his doing.....but he recruited kids to that mess and probably told them he would be there, so i would have a problem with that. He also got rid of the team Dr and did other things that upset a few within the school but then went with it because this was going to be his program like Joe. If he left after a few more years, fine. But 2 and done? That would leave a bad taste to me. Something is definitely going on there though. PSU's best or 2nd best assistant (Vanderlinden) just left. He's a fantastic LB coach. I know Al can't bring him here with Barrow, but Vanderlinden is a great LB coach and recruiter.

2 - PSU does not pay coaches as much as you would think for a University that size, so i don't think they would knock Al's socks off with an offer.

3 - I don't think Al would go back until the sanctions were lifted....then he might be willing to rebuild. In today's competitive world of college football, that is just too much BS to deal with.

Al could take the PSU job, and work with his buddy for another 5 years or so. No pressure would come to firing Ono. Cause they could use the talent card.

It's amazing that O'Brien can lose to 5-7 Indiana and 8-4 Minnesota and be praised for his job. Yet Golden loses to a 10 win Duke team and people are calling for his head. Ridiculous.

What has Golden won that anyone would offer him?

Lombardi Coaching for Excellence which is voted by the coaches so clearly he is respected among his peers

LOL, ok let me be more specific, what has he won on the football field?

What has Bill O'Brien won on the football field that anyone would offer him?

Who cares. He isn't being offered the Canes job.

Neither is Al Golden. So what's your point?
