Bethel charges dropped; Video released of punch

He was wrong. He deserves another chance though. It never ceases to amaze me how stories get blown out of proportion on the interwebz.

His attorney and/or family might have told him to keep his *** off Twitter and his mouth publicly shut until this all played out. Maybe that's why the apology is "late".

Not defending him, just saying if I were advising him in this crazy-*** situation, that's likely what my advice would have been to him.

The apology is late because he was advised not to admit to doing anything wrong until after the grand jury puked out the case. End of story.

And if his lawyer gave him that advice, it wasn't exactly bad advice, and not much different than any of us should have done if in Bethel's shoes. That's the point.
 
He had a second or two to control himself. He punched her anyway.

Dismissal should stand but no charges should be pressed.

I wonder what she said to Bethel during that second after she sucker punched him.

I was pretty critical of Bethel for hitting a woman. Should never happen, but seeing that video, it is obvious she was the instigator.
Nobody was consoling her. Maybe everyone on the court knew her character or lack of character.

I'd give the guy a pass, and reinstate him.

In the eyes of the law he did nothing wrong and won't have any stain on his record, so how can the school justify his dismissal?

Isn't his scholarship agreement binding?

Let him back on, and give him a stern reprimand about representing his school, team, family and himself.
 
Still weak AF. First off he intentionally fouled the girl that right there was whack. She turned around and clocked him upside the head. He waited a full 2 count and punched the girl in the jaw. Weak. As was said before no crime but doesn't deserve a second at that school.

It was a "bang bang" type incident. I honestly think he reacted like someone would whether man or woman. Looked like he got hit pretty solid and his first reaction was to hit back without hesitation.

It's too bad it was a girl and shouldn't have happened but the girl IMO needs to be sat down and talked to. Just because she's a girl she thinks she can swing on a dude? Complete reverse sexism. She prob would have acted all tough if he would have not retaliated and that would **** me off even more.

The reality is since she is a female this will be thrown under the rug now that the real facts are out bc no one wants to address the elephant in the room (equality)
 
All I know is she got what she deserved weather anyone thinks Bethel was right or wrong. You just can't go around socking people thinking you won't get hit back just because you are girl.

If he was kicked off the team and lost his scholarship, then she should be as well.

When she punched him she took the part of a man. Maybe that'll teach her that even a man midget will dial your digits

He hit a girl. Obviously a defense punch but still in the wrong. He will get another shot just not at TTU.
 
Weak! She was backing away from the contact, and he still swung on her. That's wasn't an immediate response.

And he knew he was wrong, which is why he turned away.
