And just when I think I'm done with him, rok reels me back in
Andy Crosland 1999 at Boston College
Honorable mention: Carlos Jones vs. FSU sometime in the 90s with the end zone interception.
I was going to mention this game. It was '94, but I was going to mention Sapp, he was unblockable that day. His performance that day and Edge's against UCLA are the two greatest single game performances I have witnessed in person.
Nawl, U seem to forget just how BIG this game was or maybe you just don't know. But this particular game was the first game of the season, Monday night. Nationally, televised. It was promoted and broadcast along the lines of NC game. Florida State was a ranked team going into the season. And Miami was not ranked. Contrary to your opinion all the national polls believed FSU was a top 20 or better team. Not to mention, this game was played early in the season when most teams think playing a rival of this caliber that early in the season is insane! To note, Golden campaigned for later date of this rivalry game.

Every Miami-FSU game is nationally televised. FSU was ranked #18 , so let's not pretend they were a top 5 team.

And you Guys continue to make my point stronger and stronger. As pointed out here in the broadcast, "It's not just a game here; It's a festival"!!! It was bigger than any top 5 teams games not only that weekend but the entire year.
To put it into perspective same weekend 2009, the Alabama win over Virginia Tech on ABC Saturday night drew about 7.1 million viewers. That is an improvement over the past couple of years, as ABC and ESPN enjoyed ratings boosts across the board from last year's opening week.
ABC regional coverage on Saturday afternoon featured Oklahoma State's win over Georgia, and it pulled a 3.5 rating for 5.7 million viewers. That game hammered the Notre Dame-Navy contest on NBC which only drew a little over 2 million viewers.
For the opening week, ESPN averaged a 2.3 rating and 3.6 million viewers for its college football coverage, up 28% and 34%, respectively, from a 1.8 and 2.7 million last year.
With USC at Ohio State in primetime Saturday, the WWL could only expect another good week, while NBC can only watch as ABC would pull a very good number for Notre Dame's visit to the Big House to play Michigan. But none would rate as high as this game nationally. We are the only fan base that doesn't get just how HUGE this game is!!! It's written and talked about nationally while the CIS fans seem very out of touch!

How does that make your point? Drew Weatherford beat Miami on Labor Day.

Don't kid yourself!!! CIS has been talking for months about Kaaya not having a defining game where he took over and won. If Jacory didn't take over this game after the pick 6 we would have loss. These are the plays that make this series great. These are the plays that U want to see from Kaaya. These are the plays that makes Best Individual Performances in history at the U!!!

Based on your comment regarding the pick 6, I can see why the CIS fans are so out of touch when it comes to breaking down plays. Secondly, games played on HUGE stages such as this are very rare to come away without mistakes. With that said, these are the intangibles that win games and make great performances; that dog fans are wanting to see in players; mental toughness; poise and the ability to improvise and make a play when the play called is not there to complete game winning drives. Jacory did that and it was practically written about in every news outlet across the country! That's why it deserves to be the Best Individual Performance.

Oh my G-d. I don't know why I keep arguing with you, but best individual performance should not include a game with 2 interceptions. I don't care if he bounced back and led the game winning drive. That's why Brock Berlin's game against Florida shouldn't be included. He had a horrible first half. He will be forever remembered for what he did in the 2nd half, and it was amazing, just like Jacory's heroics, but best of all time? No. If Edge had 299 yards, 3 TDs and lost 3 fumbles against UCLA, I wouldn't consider it one of the best games of all-time. If Santana Moss had 9 catches for 180 yards and 2 TDs and 2 or 3 fumbles against FSU in 1999 it would not be one of the best performances of all-time. If a basketball player scores 50 points grabs 10 rebounds with 10 assists but has 10 turnovers and fouls out, it's not one of the best performances of all time. How hard is that to understand?
Jacory was great when it mattered. It was a great performance in the rivalry. He had a good game, maybe a very good game. One of the best of all time? No, he did not.
You can respond if you want to respond, but I'm done, since you don't get it.

Nawl, You don't get it. We are discussing the "Best Individual Performance" not the perfect game!!!
It was Dec. 18, 1994, when Favre made the Packers' biggest play of the year. It was one that showed both his courage and his recklessness all at once.
Green Bay needed a win over Atlanta in the final game ever played at Milwaukee's County Stadium to keep its playoff hopes alive, but trailed, 17-14, late. Favre and the Packers drove to the Falcons' 9-yard line in the closing moments, and with the Packers out of timeouts, coach Mike Holmgren had a simple demand of Favre.
"Whatever happens, don't scramble," Holmgren told Favre. "Because we don't have any timeouts and if you get tackled in bounds, the game's over. Throw it someplace where we have a chance to score or throw it away. Do not run around!"
Favre was always one for the dramatic, though, and when no one got open, he took off running. Favre dove for the right corner of the end zone and hit pay dirt with just 14 ticks left on the clock. His gutsy, mad scramble gave Green Bay a 21-17 win and helped it clinch a playoff berth the following week. He was 20-41 221yrd passing; 1 passing TD; 1 INT; 1 rush TD for 20 yrds. It's not about a perfect game it's about rising above everyone else to win the game!!!

Jesus, I said I was done, but this is needs addressing. You just proved my point (again). That was not a GOOD game or performance. It was a good play by Favre or a good moment in an average game. The best overall performance of all time we're discussing in this thread implies a great (for the ages) overall game. Best individual performance. Go read the rest of this thread and what's being thrown out there. I'm not being an ***, I'm not arguing for arguments sake, you really are missing the point and not understanding the definition.

No not an *** but in your haste to be right you are coming across as being overly sensitive maybe that's why you are missing the point of the thread. Here is what I grabbed from the OP's post and know where does it say by a canes great (for the ages):
"Best Single Game Performance By a UM Player?
Was watching a Sean Taylor Tribute vid & they showed highlights from his insane game in Tallahassee in the rain.
I started wondering was that the best single game performance by an individual Cane?
Some that came to mind:
- Sean Taylor in 2003 vs FSU
- Edgerrin James in 1998 vs UCLA
- Bernard Clark in 1989 vs Notre Dame
- Willis McGahee in 2002 vs Virginia Tech
What are some others that come to mind and what do you all think was the best single game performance by a Miami Hurricane?"

Yes, those games were. Jacory Harris' was not. Taylor didn't miss 12 tackles to go along with his INTs and TD against FSU. James didn't fumble 3 times to go along with his 300 yards and 3 TDs against UCLA, etc.
