Bentavious Thompson?

Richt seems like a high integrity dude. It would be much more considerate to drop him than ignore him waiting for him to go away, which I think is what pushed Ross, Dunning and Roberts away. But we don't know how these interactions go.

I don't get why it's so hard to say "We are a new staff and are re-evaluating every current commitment and consider yourself open at this time."

The game ant base of simpithy, kids have been burning us for years ditching us for schools that don't even need them i don't care nothing about these sofla kids feelings.

We say we don't care but don't burn that southridge bridge, either. Kicking Scott to the curb as well as this guy won't look good.

This is like when you're breaking up with a chick, but you don't wanna break her heart, so you kinda just ignore her, but she still doesn't get the message and hangs around even though you're pretty much openly flirting with her replacements. Rough.

Agreed but shouldn't the coaches just man up and tell him? It's a tough convo but the right thing to do. Then he can focus on other options. Better to get it over with then drag it out anyways imo

Southridge might not be too happy with us after this year.

Meanwhile Saban personally offered Kemore Gamble according to 247. Probably trying to get into that school to land Pope for 2018. He don't give a **** about processing these kids.

I liked Kemore but he wasn't a good fit body type wise. A bit of a tweener and we've already got one of those in Irvin Jr.

I totally agree that he probably is not a fit here due to roster redundancy. I question why Saban would offer this kid because he usually has certain size requirements for his recruits. I doubt Gamble meets those for a TE.

I have a hunch that he probably wants to recruit southridge kids so it can help him land bigger fish at that school down the road (ie. Mark Pope). If these kids sign, he just tells the less desirable recruits to find better opportunities after a year or so, kind of like he did with Shawn Burgess Becker.

Surprised he is still committed

Probably loves the school

His coaches, parents, teammates and friends should tell him to open up to the schools that really want him. It's another downside to recruiting, having to let a kid down easy.

When Saban sees Gamble he might see his next OJ Howard. I dont think Saban offers guys just to get another. SBB was for all accounts a high level recruit. I just think he is out of position if he thinks hes a Safety. And hes not good enough to be a WR at ALA anymore with all the 5*s they got coming in.

BThompson lets remember will be 20 when he steps on campus. If he hasnt seperated himself from the pack then at this point its time to move on. I wish the kid the best of luck whereever he ends up. Might be UF.

Didn't we do the same thing with Dunning and Roberts? Invited them to compete so the coaches could see them one more time and they decommitted soon after (assuming coaches told them we are no longer interested upon seeing them).

OJ Howard is a protypical sized NFL TE at 6'6 250 pounds. He not isn't 6'3 ish and 220 pounds like Gamble is. I doubt Saban looks at him and sees the next OJ Howard.

I'm glad you seem to be such a big fan of Saban and his tactics. However, he is notoriously known to over sign and be shrewd when it comes to recruiting.

This. I fear this to be true. I will always respect the talent down at the Ridge.

From what I am reading, it seems that he might be a fit at LSU. Good for him.
