Same thing going on all cycle.**** is going on
Just a theory, but the timing does fit for a potential hypothetical.Regardless of whether their offers were upped (which is probably very common, and happening every where as the summer progresses?). Why think that?
Just because some kids and unfortunately a good amount of our prospects aren't coming the means it's not possible some kids really do want to come onboard?
Hey... I wouldn't mind that if that was true. You have to do what you have to do.Narratives?
If anything, they’ve been dragging this out all summer that the fireworks are coming. Summer’s over. Fall camp starts tomorrow.
With each day that passes, I am inclined to believe Trader and Jones were desperate plugs given some extra cash to lock it up and stop the bleeding.
(Hypothetically of course) - In a sense, yes good for them for doing so. Finally realizing there's a sense of urgency here. But I would be concerned with three things:Hey... I wouldn't mind that if that was true. You have to do what you have to do.

- Nothing nice since Lightfoot, with Scott, Stone, Jayden Jackson, Kendall Jackson all tapering off in excitement.
- Lost Mitchell commitment
- Now FSU along with UF class continuing to grow, Miami trending to fall into that 15-20 range (which now we're back to)
- Need DT juice, WR juice good for trust in offense
Nah I totally understand you. That's why every time I read anything about us being "confident", I pay it no mind because yeah, the results just isn't there and hasn't been all cycle.(Hypothetically of course) - In a sense, yes good for them for doing so. Finally realizing there's a sense of urgency here. But I would be concerned with three things:
1. We were really struggling to recruit THAT bad at DT and WR? We really needed to up the bag for just one DT to commit? Tf we doing?
2. The staff is just spewing actual bs to DMoney and other insiders? Or they're clueless recruiting? Because the confidence doesn't match the results.
3. Well if we had money to bump two guys, why didn't we continue to do so? Or now, over two weeks since those two commitments and right after a very important BBQ event...they didn't have the money to shut anyone else down?
So I hope I'm wrong, pretty much just talking out loud and speculating. I don't think we really bumped those guys, at least I hope not.

In a more serious note:
None of this is a good look. Chain of events are set:I don’t think you are wrong but the timing and optics of all of this is awful.
None of this has a thing to do with the fact Jones and Trader committed or why they chose to…All non-pertinent.
So the last 10 kids we were finalists.
Scott
Trader- UM
Stone
J.Jax
K.Jax
Barney
Jones- UM
Mitchell
Lightfoot- UM
Ionotta
Riley- UM
Madison
Odom
And trending downward on Cole, Breland…But will probably land Patterson
I agree the class is slightly disappointing thus far. But 4 out of what 15? That's what recruiting is…We aren't Bama or Ohio State. And we are fighting them for players.
You aren't going to hit anywhere near 50% of the kids you make the final 4 when you are off 5-7 and battling Bama, OSU, GA, etc for players.
I know you have to recruit 5* but **** you don’t have to miss and resort to grabbing a kid that has 4 digits behind his name in the rankings….There are an awful lot of kids we could pick up that would kill to be Canes that are signing elsewhere that were given no attention while we are spending all our time on 5* thinking you will sign them all and then having them play you, bolt elsewhere and not having a backup plan higher than kids ranked over a thousand…jmo
You can't explain away anything right about now. Just had a weird feel
It is my biggest issue as well. The timing and optics oof. Like do this after you land a couple four starsI don’t think you are wrong but the timing and optics of all of this is awful.
I won't question them on OL recruiting. I'll take Cristobal and Mirabal's OL "rankings" over whoever the **** is doing it for these online services. Easy call.
The staff must overachieve this year. They don't have a choice.None of this is a good look. Chain of events are set:
1. Kid ranked 10 points under our kicker commits, after it is well-known the University is struggling to land blue-chips and has more kids ranked below 900 than in the top 250.
2. Fans get upset and impatient
3. Twitter and fan pages either make fun of program, or try to calm the masses...which inevitably is funny and more material to make fun of program
4. Program receives even more negative recruiting
5. More pressure on program to land commits
