Sure if he qualifies he can get additional academic scholarships. But a better more lucrative option would be for the school to set him up with the 1st lucrative likeness advertisement gig they workout with a local Miami business.
Not to mention dad gets a 33% raise and every one is happy an no one feels disrespected because Ishmael would be put on athletic scholarship in year 2, thus avoiding the 25 cap annual Intial Counter rules, but he still counts against the 85 man max. An best of all UM gets to preserve 1 intial counter spot in the
2021 class to add a player, considering how tight we are for 2021 spaces we need to be creative.
Go Canes
1. you dont get creative by telling a four star kid who can just pack his bags and head elsewhere that we wont give you a full 4 year ride bc your dad works here and spots are tight. thats on the coaches to figure out the spots.
2. i guarantee you that the kid will be disrespected if you aren't giving him the same full ride and the perks that go with it as the other kids on the team. he isnt a 1 star or no star walk on. hes a legit good talent who can go elsewhere and get all the perks.
3. any academic ship is still less than the full athletic scholarship. easy to say all this till youre the kid being told that we wont put you on a full ride bc your dad works here. you want to **** up your entire standing with the local community? thats one way to do so

It's funny to watch the board "IC capologists" figure out the loopholes. It worked out really well when we asked Taulia to pay his own way.
Look, we all understand that the kid COULD get tuition remission. But we're not talking about Carlos Huerta here, a lightly-recruited kicker. We're talking about a 4-star kid. His dad has access to tuition remission and the kid didn't commit to us 3 years ago? Sounds like (until lately) he has been considering all valid offers.
Sure, guys have been hypothesizing about how Ishmael could live at home, and UM could super-secretly give him a 30% raise in the middle of Covid without any questions being asked, and UM could illegally set Ishmael up to be the corporate spokesperson for Softbank, Morgan Stanley, MasTec, White & Case, Camping World, Domino Sugar, and Williamson Cadillac.
Yeah, all of that might happen.
But it's highly unlikely, so can we just forget about it for now?
Instead, let's lobby the NCAA for rule-changes that will allow ALL SCHOOLS to get back ICs for kids who choose to transfer closer to home due to Covid concerns and/or legitimate grad transfers.
