Baseball series is bigger than Duke game this weekend

Maybe you guys don't get it. National exposure, #1 seed, those things are fine and dandy. But they don't affect the tournament. If beating Duke tomorrow would give us home field advantage, I would be very excited. But it doesn't. It gives us no advantage, and we are likely going to lose anyway. The biggest game in UM athletics this year starts in five minutes.

I don't know about the premise of the OP, but I'm personally just sick and ******* tired of losing to UiF.

You don't get that what you're saying is factually incorrect. Exposure helps in recruiting, #1 seed in a bracket sets up location and teams better in the tournament. Neutral courts aren't all the same.

Neutral courts aren't all the same.

There is no such thing as a neutral court with our fan base.

Exactly, which is why a 1 seed to DC is better than a 2 seed to Indianapolis. Thanks for proving my point.

Uh, we will be outnumbered anywhere. Every site will be like a road game. You proved nothing. #2=#1. #1=#2. When we are down by 20 tomorrow you will start to see things my way.

Down by 20? Really?

Got a bad feeling about this one. Too many squeakers, and the Heels will be focused. I think it gets ugly. If we could do it to Duke, Duke could do it to us.

Being a #2 will be a road game, being a #1 will be neutral. There is a massive difference. Fool.

I think you'll notice that I haven't insulted you once. If you can't handle disagreement without acting like a teenage girl, then ignore me.

Every tournament game we play after the first weekend will be a road game, unless you and 7,000 friends from the arcade are going.

Even if true, not every "road" game is the same. I'd much rather have the #1 seed and avoid being in a bracket with a team like Indiana. Playing the easier schedule that a #1 seed gets versus a #2 or #3 seed is a BIG difference.

You proved nothing. #2=#1. #1=#2.
This is statistically incorrect.

The #1 seed historically has higher odds to reach the Sweet Sixteen, and much higher odds to win the title. Getting that #1 seed would be huge, and beating Duke goes a long way towards getting it. This is probably the biggest game of our basketball season so far... the baseball games against UF are important, but a non-conference baseball series at the beginning of the season just doesn't have the same impact.
