I can't remember when we became the school that needs all star classes to win. We used to make unknown kids become stars on Greentree. Which has been a big problem before. The kids on our team now. Have potential, if Mark Richt can get their potential out of them. We will have no problem recruiting. Then we'll stop worrying about who went to play at LSU and Bama. Those places are dumps especially Tuscaloosa. They need bagmen and boosters and all star classes to recruit as well as big name HC. We need to start creating animals on Greentree again. Hungry players who know what they want and who tf they are representing. It starts with the defense punishing teams physically. There are so much teams who do way better than we do with less stars. But we only focus on Clemson, FSU and Bama......because they are hot now. We had the worse coaching staph we have ever had under Golden and FSU had to squeak out wins against them 3/4 years. We'll be fine

To be fair, on average, it's better to get higher-rated recruits. The odds are highly in your favor the more 4/5 star recruits you accumulate.
You're not going to win NCs with too many of the "Golden specials" we still have on the roster.
But you're correct in that our best teams have been composed of top 8-15 recruiting classes. Get the guys that fit what you want to do and their exact rating is not the end-all be-all.
