Everyone gets caught in guys athletic prowess but sleep on the most important thing knowing assignment. The best teams have the smartest football players. Miami back in the day always had hard workers and high IQ players . Athletic ability is useless if you’re a dumb player . That’s where evaluating comes in.

I don't think it's either. It's a retention issue. Guys are absolutely told what their assignment is in a given defensive scheme. The fact that some of them can't remember what to do is 100% on them.

You find out who can do it and who can’t and get rid of the ones who can’t. Problem is we had a lot who can’t

Well said. This has been the problem since Butch. You can have all the fancy high tech tools in the world. But if you don’t know how to use them, they are pretty much useless.

GT having our number is proof. Give me a highly intelligent, self motivated, "all in" team over selfish, stupid, talent any day.

We have not been a smart selfless team and therefore waste the talent that we do have.

Been a problem through multiple Head Coaches and Coordinators and what’s the common denominator? I would mention it but I don’t feel like starting the year off going back and forth with people that feelings will be hurt by “my opinion”.
