I can imagine if Gunter is starting, it's because the coaches like what they're seeing out of the entire practices, and not the 10 or so plays that we see.

You would think a coach like yourself would know that.

Yeah well ***** that. If I got a kid who ends up on the offensive highlights every day, and another kid (Crawford or Howard) who ends up on the defensive highlights every day, I'm gonna make some changes.

Like you said there highlights meaning best plays of the day. Doesn't mean Gunter is ****ting the bed this whole off-season.

Does Howard make the offensive highlights every day? (no)
Does Crawford make the offensive highlights every day? (no)

Only Gunter has been the victim of our "best plays of the day" every time.

Funny thing is, when Highsmith makes the highlights every day people consider him a liability. "There's Highsmith getting toasted again. I don't ever wanna see him in a black jersey. Blah blah blah."

It's the typical double-standard that reigns supreme on this site. The fan favorites get a different pass. Almost nobody is completely objective with their opinions of our players.

Instead of being a fake crusader against message board unfairness, pay attention to the games. The reason the fans like Gunter is because he was one of our best CBs last year during his first season. The reason the fans are finished with Highsmith is because he's been terrible forever. Get it? It's not based on a few highlight plays like your determinations are.

Nothing you female-shouldered ***** say makes a difference to me. I see Gunter getting owned every day. It makes me wonder. That's all there is to it.

Being our best CB last year is like being the smartest ******.

C'mon man.... you comparing Gunter to Highsmith?? Dorsett made a simple catch, its not like Gunter just got beat badly on that play.

Also Howard and Crawford have been beaten plenty of times.... I'm still a big Howard fan but i've seen him get badly at times, chasing the receiver 10 yards back and ****. Antonio Crawford was beaten on that endzone catch in these highlights.... it happens.

These guys are competing back and forward... i'm just impressed with the fact that this defense is finally at a point where they arent just taking it up the *** by the offense 24/7 like some helpless victims, and are now able to compete at a level where they can make this offense, that we all know is legit, have to regroup.

I agree that it seems that Howard and Crawford are making more plays then Gunter and have closed the gap between them, from last year... I know that if the coaches feel like Gunter needs to step it up they'll find a way to push him even if it means sliding Crawford or Howard over to that side and seeing what happens.

Mentioned it before but if you watched Howard's interviews from last year and compare to the beginning of camp there is an obvious difference. Much more positive and confident. And his play seems to show he has more confidence also. Think he might be ready to make some moves.

You can say that about our whole defense.
We seem to have 11 brand new starters and 11 co starters on the 2 deep.
Almost to a MAN, and I use that word appropriately, everyone looks like a new and vastly improved version of the boys they were last year.

Our offense is supposed to be a video game and our defense is one of the worst in schools history. I know defense is ahead of offense this time of year but that was NOT the case the last two years.

As far as Gunter goes, ol boy played his balls off last year. Definitely outperformed Crawford and Howard so I'm going to need to see some game action before I get too up or down.

I do think Crawford and Howard have amazing upsides though so they should be able to pass him eventually, but for the time, Gunter has earned his praise.

Defense is always the easiest group to build for any of the Big 3 Universities in the state of FL when you have the talent we have in this state. Last year was an exception due to **** poor roster management and entitlement issues. When you return the amount of kids on defense we did and throw in more ballers to the mix your defense is going to make huge leaps like we've seen especially when you have a competent coaching staff.

I knew the defense would be fine this year.

That's what i'm trippn on.... the defense said thats enough of the bs and beat up on the offense today. Now the offense is the group that is going to come back with a chip on their shoulder b/c now they feel like they have something to prove.

This team is going to do some special things this year.... aint no way around it.

depth will be alot better this year. the whole team seams to be playing alot faster and stronger. i think the dl is alot better will stuff the middle better but

still need to work on shedding there blockers. otherwise cant see many weakness besides if they have mental errors
