At least we aren't USC

Quite frankly, no one cares about USC, Rams or Chargers. USC had the hype train going during the Carroll days but it died once he left. LA is still a Raiders town for football that’s why the season ticket and suite sales for the LV Raiders are far better than the Chargers or Rams.

Nothing beats the Lakers or Dodgers in LA sports.

That’s crazy. Helton will (should) be gone real soon. The number of kids who used to love playing for SC was significant not only in CA, but across the nation. My, my, my....how the tables have turned.
It’s unbelievable. They used to have first pick of the Southern Cal recruits each year. I remember be jealous how they could lock down their recruiting grounds, unlike Miami. How times have changed.

that is on the admin. they talked all year long about Helton had one more game and gave the impression that he was about to be fired... man, no kid would want to deal with the uncertainty. hello. Helton probably stopped recruiting with the admin publicly questioning his job

You do realize that this is where this ship is headed...

USC has so many advantages Miami doesn't. They are the school in CA and have the ability to dominate West Coast recruiting that just will never happen for Miami in FL given all the SEC teams + Clemson, Ohio St, etc that are all over here.

They also have a ton of money (just put $300 million into a stadium renovation) and have boosters willing to play the bag game.

What happened to them should never happen there, it's stunning

Nah. He where he belongs. I don’t think he was ready for USC and I think because he’s in a familiar area he can do better there..he just fits LSU
Ed O was not a “USC man”. Not even close. There was no effen way he was ever going to get the job at SC. Ed is def where he belongs.

And regarding Helton, part of the blame has to go to USC. Their Administration let Helton hang out there for months not knowing whether he was going to get canned. When they finally decided to let him stay (which could mean they failed to get Urban), it was too late. Recruiting is about relationships and Helton wasn’t in a position to do so.

78 would be depressing. But we might be coming in at 20 for years and they could be back at 5 to 10 in a couple years. Like PSU went from death penalty to Big 10 contender while we spun our wheels with no traction.

If they fired Helton last year when they were supposed to....it never happens

I just can't imagine how bad he must be as a recruiter to actually do this poorly. He's gotta just creep them out or something. USC, the name, image, campus co-eds, education, city of LA, etc shouldn't ever finish that low. I wouldn't even know how to even intentionally do that. For real, craziest **** ever.

Wow just looked at their class. They signed 11 kids and 9 of the are Offensive or Defensive lineman, only 1 skill position player (WR), and only 1 of them is a 4 star. Never thought this was possible.
