As if you needed more news today...

Aside from stealing a coach from fsu... Shouldn't we be a wee bit concerned that this could negatively impact our 2013 team? Our senior qb would have to learn a whole new system

Just a total hypothetical and it in no way represents the way I think/feel about this, but if I was to tell you we win 11 with Fisch next year, but would only win 9 with Coley, but due to the boon in recruiting with Coley and Cristobal, we get every single south florida target, in '13 and '14 and run the table in 2014 to the Chip, would you be down with it?

I'd take it for a 'ship in 14 and the talent

Pipe down folks, I'm willing to bet a lot of money that two things happen

1) Jimbo forks over the playcalling duties
2) Coley is given a significant "incentive" to stay

Jimbo know good and god dam well that if he loses his best recruiter to his fiercest rival, it's over.

I mean, he does know that right?

smh..it is jimbo

2013 is shaping up to be one of the best years in terms of news, and it's still January. Let that sink in for a second...

#2 has already taken place. Would Jimbo really be so stubborn as to not fork over play calling?

It won't be so much about what Jimbo tells Coley and more about if Coley believes that Jimbo is going to give up the keys to his offense.

i don't post much but **** it guys tonight has just been beautiful as far as news is concern..to boot the b-ball team is just crushing puke.....love it. keep it coming D$, Pete et al.

This is obviously a stepping stone for Coley. He's been rumored for a lot of head jobs this year. Not really crazy about hiring a guy that will likely be gone in one/two years.

To completely lock down 6, Collins, Coley, Kirkland, and next year's bumper SoFl crop? I love this.

Add in, I'm confident in AG's ability to guide whoever takes the job successfully. Again, if AG wants the guy, good enough for me. The absurd lockdown we'd have on Dade and Broward would just be an advantage. And frankly, our birthright.

That tends to happen when you have a very good coaching staff.

OC James Coley could be the next #FSU coach to leave the program. Rival Miami has offered a job. Latest ($) http://floridastate.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1078&tid=162069432&mid=162069432&sid=1061&style=2

OH ****

That doenst mean jack, they can just be reporting what we are talking about here. OR, Coley's side is leaking the info to them up there. Either way, it all seems to be coming from Coley's side, which makes me very leery.

Jesus Christ, enough is enough. Stop with this whole sabotage schtick. You're becoming extraordinarily insufferable.
smh

I imagine that Cristobal has to speak very highly of Coley if we extended him an offer. I mean, it is apparent that we all ready had a very competent coaching staff from a recruiting standpoint. The addition of Cristobal only helped that.

We are in need of X's and O's guys. I have to believe that despite his track record, and apparent lack of experience, Coley has to be that guy. And that his recruiting prowess and relationship with the few uncommitted recruits is only a bonus.

I mean, the list of OC's out there must have been fairly large no? Golden must be confident in overall abilities to pull the trigger right?

True, but at some point, some level of stability is necessary at the coordinator position if you want to compete for national titles. Mario.......fine, not as big a deal replacing a position coach. We'll see. I guess I'll trust Al on this one. I think he is a great head coach, so why start questioning him now.
