One thing I don't get is why doesn't the judge from the bankrupcy hearing do something? If I was the judge of that case, I would be ****ed and hold the NCAA and Perez accountable for waisting my time and the taxpayer's time and money.
That's not how federral judges work, that is to make things precipitiously public. Instead, i's bet MEP's bar card (law license) that the judge has already passed his deep concerns regarding both MEP and the NCAA to 1) the state bar(s) of the attorneys involved in the abuse of the federal court, 2) the FBI - which has general investigative authority as to potential federal criminal offenses and 3) the US attorneys office - which represents government agencies who are parties to the bankruptcy (and the USAO also routinely represents the federal court, for input and or prosecution of court related matters, orders to show cause, civil and/or criminal contempt, etc.) the bankkruptcy judge most certainly will contact the federal court of MEP's (and perhaps theinvolved NCAA lawyers) to permit the local court a chance to kick their asses first.
these things typically will appear to the public to move very slowly and the he pace is slow. but agencies will move slowly so as to not compromise the activities of another agency, or to wait to see what kind of admissions folks like MEP or the NCAA might make in another investigation, i.e., MEP might make some claim she thinks will clear her i(dea of state) bar problems and she'll make statements that drop her in the fry daddy for purposes a federal contempt. be patient. its coming.
