We need to if we want to continue the progression of working our way "back" as a top program. You need to land difference makers like these kids, especially when they're in your backyard. Keeping top talent home in recruiting is step 1 to maintaining a premier college football program.

Collins and Gran were tight ACCORDING TO MANNY. Half their staff is gone now too. I just couldnt imagine why Collins would go to FSU when he can be a feature back with Duke here and a monster Oline that **** near got Duke to 1,000 yards in his first season.

Matthew Thomas doesnt even know who his D coordinator would be if he went to FSU. And when they do hire a new DC, who will be his LBers corch?

Kirkland knows he can see immediate playing time at either FSU or Miami. But he looks and talks like a Miami goon why go to Tally where it aint **** to do when you can hit the bars and clubs here in Miami?

Coley knows his boys are here. tHe only CB's that could guard him play for Miami. If you say u from Miami, you play at Miami. Olsen is coming so you know you gonna have a cannon aiming at you every play.


FSU just lost 4 coaches. They lost their "star" QB. They are losing all their DE's. Their running game is so-so at best. Tally is dead during the summer. Why even go there?

Honestly Miami is probably a more structured environment for a lot of these kids. Smaller school, better academics, and you aren't worshipped around a small town. In these smaller college towns, you're handed EVERYTHING and everybody throws themselves at you.

5ringz, i admire your passion, but, you are off on a lot of stuff. there are many reasons a kid goes to tally. i don't get all this "gotta get away from miami stuff" for a lot of the same reasons. but, you are kidding yourself if you don't think there are appealing things in tally. not all college kids want clubs and glitz and glamour, etc. a lot want a college town, college feel, college atmosphere, etc.
i agree if it's drugs or running w/ a bad crowd, you will do that wherever you go. if it's gangs and stuff like that, which no one has every talked about regarding collins, that's another thing.
this sounds like bs, not the poster, but, the teacher. not buying it.

So If you're a parent and you live in Broward......and your kid is getting into trouble......would you rather them just get as far away as possible and not even be able to keep tabs on them as to who and where they are hanging out???

Or would you rather send them to the richest neighborhood in South Florida about 45 minutes away where he is far enough to stay away from the hood but close enough so that you can still look after him and make sure he is doing ok?

Some kids do have to leave. My buddy is a "Big" for Big Brothers Big Sisters and his "little" had to leave town. He had evidently snitched or something like that, and staying in Miami wouldn't have been good. So he left to play football in like North or South Dakota. It happens. Kids get with bad groups or connections and staying home can lead to more problems.
