Are we still going to miss Miller, Streeter etc?

i moved on when they moved on. the only one i "miss" is Ojomo, who couldnt get the medical redshirt he REQUESTED. Go Canes!

Yeah, we really aren't going to miss our leading rusher and receiver from last year. Never mind the fact that we don't have a consistent deep threat like Streeter at the moment. Forget the fact that while Duke had a great first game, he's still only a freshman and common logic states that it would be foolhardy to depend on him. What an absolutely ridiculous statement.

Adrian Peterson would like to talk to you about his freshman season at Oklahoma sir

I was unaware that what Adrian Peterson did his freshman year was common. If you don't think Lamar Miller helps this team this year, then you're an idiot. Plain and simple.

Of course they would help (**** even Forston made an NFL roster now that hes healthy).

Of course we would be better with them. However, I think Duke and Lewis are more complete players than the guys that left early.

No one has made a strong case why Miller and Streeter will be missed.
Insults and innuendo don't make your case strong. It actually makes it weaker.

Fact: Last year against BC we had less yards and points with Miller and Streeter.

For all the ballyhooing going missing these guys, I didn't see it on Saturday.
Streeter for all the hype only broke 100 yards once. I could care less about his deep threat capabilities if he doesn't actually make good on it.

Like I said, on defense guys like OV and Ray Ray ARE CLEARLY MISSED.
Not so with their offensive counterparts.
But you all keep on missin.

Had those dudes stayed we'd probably be facing FSU in the ACC championship game in December.

I don't get this logic.
There is a cap on yards.
We got 415 yards on saturday. I doubt having Miller and Streeter would have increased that by much if at all.
Now if, for instance, the offense would have gained a measly 300 yards or so than I case would have been made for missing the offensive production Miller and Streeter represented. But we got 415 yards.
Defense is another story.
I would flip your argument and say if we had returned OV and Ray Ray we'd would be facing FSU in the ACC championship game. Defense is where we are hurting, not offense.

We'd be better with those guys, but I'm okay with taking a step back in order to take two steps forward next year.

The experience these young guys get will be invaluable.

How are we taking a step back if we put up more points and yards without them?

I'm one of the people who said we'd be surprisingly good on offense this year. I'm sure I started a post about it in the middle of the Summer. But there are two things:

1. I think you're extrapolating a lot of off one game. We could go in the tank and be complete **** on offense the rest of the way. I don't think that's going to happen, but let's see how things play out.

2. The displaced players don't have the benefit of an extra off-season of weight-training and more familiarity with the coaching staff. For example, the 2012 version of Streeter would've been undoubtedly better than the 2011 version.

We'd be a completely different team with Streeter, Miller, Washington, Vernon and Ojomo.

On depth alone. There is no bigger hole on this team than the defensive line. To have two more guys who can put pressure on the qb would completely change the complexion of our defense.

I guess you still miss the point that we would be far better off w/ Lamar taking those carries from mike James. Miller is an absolute playmaker. James does not remotely have his explosion, speed, and cut-back ability. And same argument for having a returning senior in there over rayshawn Scott, davon, and Tompkins.

LOL @ this. I'd offer Almighty Willis McGahee and Andre Johnson for this year and he'd be somewhere talking about there's a "cap on yards versus BC." Jesus.

On second thought, lawls @ the idea of Streets and Millah Time not making a difference on offense this year. I'm ok with the idea that the offense performed better than expected, but not with the notion we couldn't use those guys.

Laughable, man.

Here's a better question. Duke or miller now? Duke or miller for the next 3 years?

We won't miss them as much as if, say, we didn't have Duke. But imagine for a minute how Miller might perform with Duke on his heels... That would scare me. Miller was amazing with speed but I felt he got lazy. He knew he was going to play and didn't go into his runs with heart. Duke ran right the **** into 3 guys and did what had to be done. Miller would be able to build on that. We have Streeter to help build the wr core up and play that deep jump ball? We'd be another level up on offense. We may get there soon, but having them would put that at today.

I've got Duke on this one. Miller was good, but like I mentioned he didn't seem to run with heart or evil intentions. That stumble Duke had out of the gate on his first TD run, miller would've fallen. I saw it plenty before. Duke recovered then broke two tackles. I can't remember seeing Lamar do that.

Or how bout that 4th and 1 run where he had to plant and go through two guys? That wasn't the kind of stuff Miller did. Either he had a crease or the play went nowhere
