Are we still going to miss Miller, Streeter etc?

That's all we heard ad nauseum all off season how we will be missing the guys that left on offense especially Miller and Streeter. Still think not after yesterday's performance against a legit BC defense?
I don't and never did.
I saw our RB's convert on 3rd and short with Duke on the option pitch putting his shoulder down, something Miller rarely did.
I saw Clements punch it on from the goal line.
We rarely had negative runs like we did last year.
I saw big play runs.

I saw Lewis take a short pass and put a juke on a BC defender to go untouched into the endzone.

On defense its another story. We really missed Vernon and GASP Ray Ray.

I think Streeter much more so than Miller, Tommy could stretch a defense vertically and was a real downfield threat

As for Miller, well, I'll take 8 over him, right now( and Im not exaggerating)

We definitely missed Ray Ray but nobody wants to believe it ...We miss Lamar because of depth..If Duke goes down we have no explosion at RB ..None

Yup. He made the BC defender look like an idiot lol.

You really think we aren't missing those guys?

I love Mike James but it's clear that he is painfully average. I hope I'm wrong and he makes some plays as the season goes on, but to me, he's just a guy back there.

Being able to spell Miller with Duke would be HUGE. We already rely on Duke a lot but he's a freshman. I worry already about him hitting the wall, which is a problem that Miller had last year. So being able to keep both of their carries down but always having a guy in there that puts a lot of pressure on the defense would be huge. And it's cool that Malcolm Lewis made a nice cut, but again, he's just a freshman. And there were times last year where Streeter was downright unstoppable and dominant. Nobody could stop him whatsoever. Our offense would be much better with those two, don't kid yourself. These guys are freshman, they will hit a wall (although I can see Duke avoiding it -- the game is way too easy for him).

only person well be missing this year from the group that left early i think is just OV.

our pass rush is horrible right now and at least with him you would be able to do something

You can never have enough depth. That's what we're missing with guys like Miller and Streeter. Miller and Duke would make for an awesome 1, 2.

Miller was an incredible play maker. However, he was not a consistent running back. I think Mike James is an average back but when it comes to getting consistent yards James and Miller are equals. As long as Duke can make the big plays we won't miss Miller.

Miller was the first 1,000 yards rusher in a long time. He mad a ton of big runs. Was he perfect? No

But I'd give every single touch we gave to James to Lamar instead

And Streeter would be our best WR right now

So yea we miss them.

What is funny is people continue to say we miss OV more even though OV never did anything as a Hurricane

Almighty,

Are you dense? I'll make this simple for you--Mike James had twice as many carries as anyone else on our team yesterday. Rashawn Scott dropped a ball for an int. Davon Johnson and Kendall Thompkins were out there trying to catch meaningful passes. Are you saying that you don't think that having Miller tally those 14 carries or Streeter out there catching those balls would be better? If so, you're arguing just to argue and we're done here.

Yeah we're way better off without those guys. Why play Streeter and Miller when we have Thompkins, Scott, and Mike James?

Please point out how we missed those guys on offense yesterday.. Thanks.

If you think it would not have helped us on offense to have a #1 WR who nobody in the ACC could cover and a 1200 yd running back then you might have some mental issues.

We had a RB carry 14 times for 54 yards. You think Miller does that? If Miller had 14 carries yesterday, he has 100 yards easy.

We'd be a completely different team with Streeter, Miller, Washington, Vernon and Ojomo.

i would rather have duke sub miller than james but thats just me. Defenses would have to be on their toes all game. I dont know why people discredit what Lamar did here but he did alot, even if he ran soft at times (shoulder injuries will do that and he still never missed a game)

our offense would be extremely dynamic though with streeter because of the type of attention he would attract and I can only imagine the type of highlights he would have with a qb who could actually get him the ball downfield on the run

Yeah, we really aren't going to miss our leading rusher and receiver from last year. Never mind the fact that we don't have a consistent deep threat like Streeter at the moment. Forget the fact that while Duke had a great first game, he's still only a freshman and common logic states that it would be foolhardy to depend on him. What an absolutely ridiculous statement.
