If McCord lead the team in sacks last season hows is it out of the question that Muhammad can help the team if not even be the best pass rusher we have?

McCord weighed 65 pounds last season

*******, this man! By the start of the season, AQM will already be bigger and stronger than Cord. Some of you are sleepin on my man Quan.
We're keeping track.

AQM could end up starting this year at some point based on his ability and the fact that Shayon Green is one of the current starters at DE.

Our current starters at DE are cement footed sloths with the explosion of a deep sea firework show. AQM can fast track himself to serious playing time.

Strong side:

Hamilton
Grimble
Kamalu
Perry
Dye

Weak:

Chick
Shayon
Cain
AQM
Hoilett
(McCord on passing downs)

Shayon's Pro's would be his strength in hold the edge - Con's would be his athletic ability = not a Weakside DE.

I buy everything else, and would consider Dye a Weakside guy prior to the injury.

In an ideal world theres no way Chick is a WDE but it might be the only way to get the two best ends on the field if Hamilton's the real deal. (Though I don't think the move will be made)

Man we need Hoilett, AQM, or McCord to step up and be that quicker WDE. It would give us better depth at SDE (Green, Hamilton, Chick should all be there) too imo. That's why I was bummed when the staff thought McCord was better off as a SAM, unless we see a lot more 3-4 looks which would make sense. ("Buck" or "Jack" type LB)

A lot of people on this board have very high expectations for a guy playing a position that normally doesn't bode well for freshman. My expectations aren't nearly as high, for this year at least.

Hopefully I am wrong, cause we need every swingin' **** we can find that can contribute on the DL.

I don't think AQM needs to come in and be playing every snap or even most snaps. I do want to see him in the rotation on passing downs at least. But the guys we already have, who are simply unproven, could just step up and make it a moot point.

AQM's job this year is to make a handful of meaningful plays and take give the other guys a chance to rest and be more effective. I think he can do that.

If you all think a 235 lb DE that is used to going up against fat 6'3 280 lb high school offensive tackles is going to help this team...then GAWD HELP THIS TEAM.

That doesn't even make sense.

Did you watch him against some of the best high schoolers in the country?

I mean, I get your general POV but this kid can definitely "help" this team. Come in and dominate? Most likely not, but "help" of course he can. Have you seen our other DE's? Have you seen the other teams in the ACC? Most of them don't have as much talent as the Army Game sad to say.
THIS... He'll have a better freshman year then Chick did in my opinion and I think will probably finish with 6-8 sacks
6 TO 8 sacks is a lot especially if he is 230-235 right now. I think he will end up as the best player in the class and that is saying a lot with Burns in the class. But he has to add weight in order to be effective college tackles are going to throw him around at that weight.

Tell that to B. Mingo and S. Montgomery. Both were around 240.

Even if he is able to do what those guys do, we dont really just let guys upfield like that. Thats a quick way to the bench to watch shayon as he grades out over 90% every game.

Why are you here?

Now that it's 100 days until the season, it might not be worth speculating until the practice reports start rolling in.

Nobody knows shiat about what Freshmen will do, when and where.
