The bottom line is we are not a very good team until we get our **** together on Friday nights. I’m very worried of a Pitt sweep after tuning in to see this

Just tuned in. How do we give up 12 runs to this Pitt club? I just don’t get it. When you bring up fed coming in though I do now
Pittsburgh is definitely not slouches they put up 18 on Georgia Tech earlier this year and we had to score 23 runs in two games to beat them in 2019 in Pittsburgh. They had not been playing well at home this year so they were no doubt motivated to right the ship. I just hope this isn't going to be a repeat of the Florida State series

The question mark was always pitching for this season. Rosario and Mederos have been blessings but that hasnt been enough to offset Federman and the rest of the bullpen outside of Palmquist, being a disaster. We really couldn’t afford to lose Wanger and Gates. Not to mention the question make of Dubberly. As good as he’s been, he’s still never been deep into a game. The bats have to get going and stay going if we want to have any chance of winning a regional.

The sad thing is I posted this week saying I liked the way the pitching staff was coming along. Clearly tonight was a step back

Yeah Regalado and Munroe are supposedly talented but neither had enough reps before today, hence all the walks from Regalado.

Ya, there are times when you have to out-slug the opponent. Pitt feels like that team, but it's not going to happen if we wait until the fourth or fifth inning to get going. Need a quality start out of one or both of Mederos and Dubberly more than likely, if we are to win this series.

I agree. They need a little more mound time to get fine-tuned. However, pretty soon they will be the starters if the injury rate continues at the same pace. You can already see the starters beginning to unravel and several of the “go to” bullpen guys hurt.

how you would have coached around that umpire and pitchers losing the zone...
My low IQ take on the team is they are taught by this staff to look for walks... totally non aggressive at the plate. And yes we got screwed by umps, but score alot and dont leave the game in the hands/eyes of a moron. It drives me nuts when batters watch one and most times two pitches dead down the middle and dont swing, almost all the time down in the count.

My mom who knows nothing about the intricacies of baseball use to get on my *** from the stands way back in middle school for looking at strikes and “looking for a walk” as she would call it.

completely.

every time this happens, i want to take a dump on the photos of Ceconni, Van Belle, and McMahon

If even ONE of those guys doesn't bail .... any you could argue at least 2 out of the 3 should have come back .... then this is a team with as good a shot to win it all as anyone. still always a crap shoot, but at least the pitching staff would have been an asset to the cause, as opposed to the waterloo.

Van Belle is the one who should have returned to be the Friday night guy and let the two freshman get their feet under them. Hard to begrudge Ceconni and McMahon signing when they were selected so high.

I was a little surprised at Ceconni going as high as he did, but obviously MLB projects him only getting better and stronger.
