App State Reach

why your talking to oline guy I believe. his biggest issue is size is like 240. needs to add strength and weight. iowa and Wisconsin turn that kind of kid elite athlete but small in weight but not size is 6-5 after all into draft picks in nfl so why would they do that just have to develop him

We only have 27-28 counters and every kid has to be a Miami level kid who can help within 2 years. We will be under 85 in 2019 and likely in 2020 simply due to not having enough counters. The long snapper who got a ship is another I’d pull back!

Your analysis is very flawed.

I think Zion is gonna be a player for us after a redshirt

Have you seen our schollie numbers and where we are thin at. Have you seen what’s left out ther. Gonna have to take some projects as well as JUCO and transfers.

I bring it up for 2 reasons

He is undersized and was an extreme case of a reach
The coach that evaluated him is gone.

Which point is flawed?

The kid was an App State commit at 6'5 240lbs. It is going to take him 2-3 years to get to playing weight.

Counters- Let's see if Manny ever signs more than 28 kids! We have taken 17 kids and have Hedley as the 18th. We have 27-28 spots based on rolling numbers from 2011 or 2012. Every GT, walk-on (under 3rd year), transfer, signee uses a counter. We get 25 counters a year plus the handful that "roll" from the prior class IF we sign EEs. I'm actually assuming we have 3 EEs which we won't know until Jan 11.

2019 was almost as bad as Shannon's last year/Golden's first class in 2011. Lucky for Diaz, Miami signed 14 kids and has a month to try and close more.

Which is why Clemson took Boateng, UK took Pope,...

Miami's recruiting in 2019 was "swing for the Elites, hope we win 11 games... oh crap!!!!"

Right...But again neither of those two fit the prospect profile of this kid. They are looking for a kid with the potential athleticism of a left tackle...Even if it is a bit risky of a take. Or at least Richt/Searles were.
