Ideal would be Butch as DC and recruiting coordinator. He always seemed a little lost on sideline as HC and I don't want him there. Position or coordinator would be fine. He seems to be an untouchable after the NC thing, so maybe he might take lower position. But honestly, if I was Al, not sure I would hirer him after the Mario incident. But if he did, you can bet old Satan would come down a snatch him away. He likes Al's assistants-- well, except Mark.

Dude assembled the best talent to ever play, and left UNC with talent all over the roster. Dude seems to know recruits well and his coaching is better than Golden at this point.

Well that's not entirely true.
Butch's teams had their bad moments too. I know Golden's teams have been bad on defense for the most part, but I think we're improving.
In 1998 Butch's Canes got beat 66-13 at Syracuse where Cuse ran for over 300 yards. Now total yardage allowed wasn't bad, but Cuse hung 66 on Butch.
In 1998 Miami bounced back, and beat UCLA 49-45! They did allow 670 total yards to UCLA in that game, and 513 passing yards.
In 1999 Miami gave up near 400 total yards to VT, including around 300 on the ground, so not bad in total yards, but 43 points is they key.
In 2000 vs. FSU, Butch's Canes gave up 565 total yards in a win over FSU. That's with Lewis, Reed, and Morgan on the defense all 1st rounders. So with Butch and Schiano, and multiple 1st round picks, the defense still got shredded.

Butch had loyalty issues too, to his D Coordinator his first 4 yrs and we were getting torched. It wasn't until he was forced to fire his butt buddy and bring in Greg to run the D in yr 5 which is when we got snubbed to play in the 00 Nat'l Champ game against OU that the team turned it around drastically! Golden, imo, is literally a carbon copy of Butch's era. We wanted to fire Butch, we want to fire Golden. He's defending his butt buddy D coordinator, still, in yr 4, so did Butch. However, he's also stabilizing this program again like Butch did as well. If D-No gives up a ton of yardage again this yr, a change will be made, I'm sure of it. Al is not them problem, his blind loyalty is, but that will change after this yr if the same problem persist.

Say what you want but Butch has had more success at UNC than Golden has had here. Had he stayed at UNC we would not be worrying about Duke.

Really?!? More success?!? Butch was 20-18 thru 3 years at NC (28-23 overall) and Golden is 22-15 thru 3 years.

Yes. Butch had actual sanctions. Not some fake cloud bull**** that had no affect on the play on the field.

This is why people need to stop with the ***** Davis daydreaming. There is no chance at all he'd be welcomed back. I know he was technically cleared in the UNC NCAA mess that went on under him, but the stench of it all still clings to him. This admin ain't going for that.

That's one game, to an FSU team that went 11-2 (iirc). Under Golden giving up 500 is a regular thing, and happens against the Wake Forests of the world.
