Anyone else think

The responses in this thread are hilarious. We could not beat Iowa St. How we beating ND? Do y'all watch football? We'd beat Pedo St? No, we wouldn't. We would lose to ALL of the playoff teams with the exception of Indiana, and that would be a close game.

This would be our first game where it is a bad match-up for us on both sides of the ball. Who is our S making the tackle in one of the holes created by the power QB run with that pulling G and RB as lead blockers for Leonard? They would run for over 300 yards on us easy. A crazy high # of missed tackles. Cam's hero ball would not play out well against that secondary when we are behind and he is ignoring his check downs.

No, but let's see how things finalize with the roster and staff.

Would Xavier Lucas be allowed to suit up and play instead of Jaden Harris?

Seriously, though. Notre Lame lost at home to Northern Illinois. How soon we forget.

So yes, of course, Cam Ward and the Canes would have a shot at beating them. Not saying it would happen, but it definitely could.

Our defense would take us out of matchup with the top 4 teams.

Cam and offense would get theirs, but if we can’t hold onto a 21 point lead against Syracuse we ain’t beating those 4.

Best case scenario is that our offense keeps it entertaining and competitive.

But without substituting out the entire defense, no real clear path to winning.

Now, if we could use our offense and our defense from last year or next year….

In a pretend scenario where Crazy Eyes actually takes over our D - same exact players and no one taps out - then, yes, I could see us beating ND. If NIU can, then in that scenario, we could.

Unfortunately, there is no universe where we beat the *'s playing like they are right now. It's just too much.

Only if ND was not allowed to use any motion.

I look good in that video!!

No.

Their Secondary is ELITE & their OL would wall our DLine up without any issue.

Defensively they would absolutely shut us down.

We lose to 3 out of the Final 4 playoffs teams.

I think we'd beat Penn ST, but ND, Oh ST & Texas would kick our asses.

The only caveat to a Texas game would be that Ewers could have one of his classic mental meltdowns & **** himself into an awful enough game that we could win, but otherwise, we'd probably lose that one.
Hate to say it; but this!

Just stopped by to say I won’t be watching the Ohio State* vs Notre Lame game.

The college football season is over and I’ve moved on.

Now back to your regular programming…

I’ll repose this question for you to re answer

Exact same answer.

Miami doesn't have Oh ST's personnel on Defense, therefore the results would not be the same.

If Miami was good enough to be a playoff team, we would've been a playoff team. But we weren't because we lost when we had our own destiny in our own hands.

Just because Oh ST beat NDame doesn't mean we would. We're not as good as Oh ST.

You guys have to stop viewing everything through a one game prism.

Notre Dame next year is such a tough match up for us. They are so tough mentally and the one defining trait for us is softness. Fortunately Golden and Leonard are gone. Assume Carr will be the quarterback and he hasn’t played.

People seem to think Carr will be a much better QB than Leonard.

Maybe, but I do know we would’ve shown up and played just as well if not better than the vast majority of these other teams in the playoffs.
How can you say this when we couldn't beat GT or Syracuse? ****, we couldn't even hold a 21-point lead against 'Cuse.

It appears he doesn't play 2nd halves of bowl games viewed as exhibitions by him and Mario either.
Thank god or we would be in Big Trouble because we would be riding the Emory train. I keep telling people Cam did us a favor by showing us what we didn't have and that's a QB for next year.

Of the final 4 teams, ND is probably the worst matchup for us. They'd control time of possession while waxing our OL. Meanwhile, their DBs would limit Ward's effectiveness by limiting our WRs, creating tighter windows, and staying with them longer. Hopefully we close the gap by next summer.

I'd take our chances versus PSU (Ward limiting the impact of their pass rush and their offense being unable to hang with us) and maybe Texas (their offense has a tendency to disappear for long stretches and self-inflcit).

OSU puts up 40+ on our defense. And we wouldn't be able to keep up.
Sorry but Cam and our WR's would light them up. UL showed exactly how to go at them and our offense was better considering we had a dominant run game.
