Anthony Mckfarland ...?

Bama has a list of 4 top rbs and Wrs and lot are higher rated than the ones we want . This could work out in our favor for sure . And yeah McFarland is not s back up plan but they have a loaded backfield now with two more big ones committed .

Why?

Is signing day next week?

Did i say he was gone? Just said it aint good he wasnt there

Not necessarily bad.
Really, means nothing.

Well he just named bama his leader so there is some concern

I'm sure you've been following college fb and recruiting for as long as most
on this board, so you know what a kid names as leader 7 months before signing
day means nothing.
Even if he named UM as the leader, it would also mean nothing at this point since
we still need to put on a good product on the field.
Also, this is a DeMatha kid, and they usually don't play games.
They take their visits and then commit, not the other way around.

Ok? So we cant be concerned that a kid who just named bama his leader after having us as his top who doesnt show up to our biggest recruiting weekend in awhile????

I dont think we are his back up plan thats just swinging for left field, it is concerning that he didnt show up im hoping it was because of prior plans

If McFarland is so **** bent on Bama, then let him learn the hard way...
He'll never see the field behind 5-star Bo Scarborough, 5-star Damien Harris & 5-star Najee Harris.
At some point, we have to stop getting all bent out of shape over these kids who play games with us.
I only want players who want to be here, I don't give a **** how highly ranked they are, you're either born a Cane or you're not.
If he wants to be another Bama back that gets ran into the ground only to become an NFL bust, then so be it.

That sound you hear is all the pearls in the ocean collectively being clutched at once.

Some of y'all are vets, too. For shame.

The dude just flew home to Maryland from the Opening in Oregon and missed a trip to Miami the following weekend.

Maybe he couldn't take another trip just yet or had things going on at home. There are far too many reasons why he might have missed the camp and NO ONE here knows the details behind that. Good or bad.

Some people just want to hypothesize and ***** like 5 year old girls. Sack up!!!

Don't think the kid is playing games at all. If Miami was as stacked as Bama is with RBs, and a kid like McFarland still wanted in, we would be hailing him for not being scared of competition. Kid thinks he will play wherever over anybody, and I respect that and want the kid in this class even more. The staff just has to sell him on Miami, which is what recruiting has always been. Juedy and McFarland will be telling how this staff stacks up by going up against the best. This was where Al failed over and over again. The stuff about being born Canes is nonsense, we have had numerous greats that weren't born Canes, but are some of the best and most loyal to have ever put on that helmet. Recruiting is about changing minds, something Butch was a pro at. DJ Williams was not a born Cane, neither was Winslow, Shockey, or countless other greats. You think some out great Cali QBs ike Dorsey were just born Canes?

Dorsey wanted to be a Cal Bear or a Vol.

Portis and Lamar wanted to be Gators.

James Jackson and Greg Olden signed with Notre Dame.

Etc.

Have to sell the program.

When I say Born Cane, I don't mean South FLA, I mean kids who always wanted to play here & no matter how hard other teams recruited them they were still all Canes. I think you misinterpreted what I meant...
Like Deejay Dallas is a natural born Cane, no he's not from FLA, but he's one of US! That's what I mean.

Does he have to pay out of pocket to travel here? I believe so, unless it's an official trip. This as just a camp....

No I get it, and my point still stands. Yes DeeJay is a born Cane and he is from outta town, but that doesn't mean every Cane great was one. There has been a bunch that just fell to Miami. For instance it was a compromise between Winslow and his dad. I love kids like DeeJay but it isn't enough, we need to change minds. That is the difference between good and great. Ed Reed wasnt a born Cane, he just didnt get any attention from anyone else, and the rest is history. Getting a McFarland if he pans out is the difference between being top 5 and top 20. Lets flip the script here, and bring up Amari. Was he a born Bama fan? **** no, but they convinced him that is where he should and he was the difference that year in winning the MNC. We have to embrace these battles, and win them if we want to be the Canes again.

I wonder if the staff knew he wasn't coming because it seems like they were not notified. Why else would they release a list to media of visitors with his name on it. Unless it was a last minute thing and he canceled. Regardless it is still not a positive that he didn't show up.

DJ Dallas wasn't a born cane either. He was committed to Richt at Georgia but once he recommitted to him at miami then he was all in at miami.Had Richt stayed at Georgia 1 more year miami would be nowhere in Deejay's mind.

They didn't release the names to the media. They can't.

As a player Ray is the GOAT at his position but in that same speech he talked about trailblazers and pathfinders and how they are different when in reality they are synonymous. He is wrong. Miami was built on changing minds, Howard started by convincing everyone that instead of leaving Miami, the kids needed to stay in Miami. This crosses over whether kids are local or not. How good would we be this year if we had changed Cook's mind? Like I said we need to convince McFarland and Juedy that they need to be Canes.

Glad you repeatedly argue semantics with one of our greatest recruiting resources.......yes, I know, he can't recruit, again semantics.

Deejay is committed to Miami for one reason, Mark Richt. If Ga had not changed coaches he would be a Dawf commit.

I didn't mean releasing an official list. I meant leaking names through media sources like Pete.
